NFL Draft Zone:
The Tennessee Titans are due ladies and gentlemen. I keep hearing about the Steelers and how there offense and defense is going to shut down the Titans but let me explain something. The Pittsburgh defense is banged up, both Lamarr Woodley and Troy Polamalu will miss tonight’s game which is going to hurt the Steelers in the middle of the field. The Titans are not playing a quarterback who is incapable of having a good game. Matt Hasselbeck was a proven starter in the NFL, and will finally have all his targets up and running at full speed.
The Titans expect to have Kenny Britt, Kendall Wright, Jared Cook and Chris Johnson back at full strength. We already know that the Titans line can block, but lets talk about the Tennessee defense. They have not been the brightest spot unless you are playing fantasy football. They are always on the field and put up huge numbers from their defensive line to their safeties. Tonight they will need the Titans linebackers to step up with Colin McCarthy likely out. If Akeem Ayers and company can just get in big Ben’s face it could be a long night.
The Pittsburgh offensive line has struggled at times and will need to protect Big Ben if they want to win. I just see the Titans putting pressure on them. While I don’t believe they get the upset, I do believe they will cover the spread of 7 points.
Tennessee 30- Pittsburgh 35
If you have Jared Cook in fantasy football you must play him tonight. He has been upset that he isn’t getting the ball and both Matt Hasselbeck and their Offensive coordinator said they need to find a way to get him the ball. Expect big things from number 89 tonight in Tennessee.
BEST OF MAXIM
“Aw man.”“Aw man.”We’ve seen funny press conferences and interviews before (the best being Ellis Lankster), but we’ve never seen one like this. In a short 90-second interview after last night’s Titans-Steelers game, Kenny Britt successfully started off every reply with the phrase. We can’t tell if this was the result of a locker room bet/dare or if Britt was just so...
Last night, Kendall Wright caught six passes for 71 yards in the Titans’ Week 6 win. Wright led the Titans in both categories, and he is becoming one of the league’s most productive rookie receiver’s. Wright does his best work when the quarterback can get him the ball in space. He had several huge receptions last night and was a huge factor in the win. He has out performed...
The Wednesday injury report for the Tennessee Titans is now out as they prepare to host the Pittsburgh Steelers Thursday night in Nashville.
As expected, quarterback Jake Locker (left shoulder), running back Javon Ringer (knee), and tackle Mike Otto (knee) all were officially ruled out.
Linebacker Colin McCarthy (ankle) did not practice again Wednesday and is officially listed...
Titans running back Chris Johnson had his second best rushing game of the season Thursday against the Steelers, running for 91 yards on 19 carries as the Titans upset Pittsburgh, 26-23.Fantasy Spin:Johnson has rushed for 24 yards or less in four of his six games this season but he's picked up 232 yards in the other two. Johnson added 23 yards on four catches Thursday, but he...
Tim Shaw blocked a punt to set up Jamie Harper's 1-yard run that gave the Tennessee Titans a 13-10 lead over the Pittsburgh Steelers early in the second quarter Thursday night.
The Titans had been one of only two NFL teams without a rushing touchdown - the St. Louis Rams were the other - before Harper's burst on the opening play of the second quarter.
Shaw set up the touchdown...
NASHVILLE, Tenn. Entering Thursday night's game with Pittsburgh, the Tennessee Titans were a team in disarray, teed up for a blow that could have shattered them into some kind of organizational shake-up.
At least, that's what many of the wary hometown fans might have feared as boisterous Steelers fans in large numbers waved their terrible towels at LP Field prior to kickoff...
I exchanged emails this week with Andrew Strickert from Total Titans, Bloguin's Titans blog. We each answered a handful of questions about this week's matchup. Andrew's answers are below and mine are over at his site.

Chris Johnson has done very little to help himself, his image, or his team since his holdout to begin the 2011 season and he certainly hasn’t contributed much on the field this year, coming into tonight’s game boasting a 2.9 YPC average. He was quoted this week as saying that the Tennessee Titans needed a … Continue reading »
(Photo: George Walker IV, The Tennessean) The Pittsburgh Steelers — or perhaps more accurately, the team’s fans — probably figured heading into Thursday night’s match-up with the Tennessee Titans that the somewhat underperforming squad (although the team has been devastated by injuries) would begin to turn around the season courtesy of what they reasonably envisioned [...]
Tennessee receiver Kenny Britt grabbed his first touchdown reception of the season Thursday against the Steelers, a game-tying 5-yarder in the fourth quarter.Fantasy Spin:Britt has dealt with an ankle injury recently but the receiver was able to turn in his most productive fantasy game of the season Thursday. Britt led the team in targets with 11, and Nate Washington was second with...
This game could be a lot better than most are willing to admit, but that is only if the Tennessee Titans show us something.
Yes, this could also be abysmal to watch with Matt Hasselbeck and Chris Johnson accomplishing next to nothing this season.
CJ2K has killed fantasy team owners and many are begging...
Coach Mike Munchak likes his football history, and he told his Tennessee Titans how the 1993 Houston Oilers started 1-4 before winning 11 straight to reach the playoffs.
One win down.
And that's enough for Tennessee right now.
Rob Bironas kicked a 40-yard field goal, his fourth of the game, as time expired, and the Titans edged the Pittsburgh Steelers 26-23 on Thursday night...
Can Chris Johnson still be called CJ2K?
Pittsburgh Steelers (2-2) @ Tennessee Titans (1-4)
In 2009, Chris Johnson ran for 2,006 yards, earning his current nickname CJ2K. Every year since then, Johnson's yards per game has fallen from 125.4 in '09, to 85.3 in '10, to 65.4 last season, and so far this season has been his worst, averaging a measly 42 yards per game...
NASHVILLE - It came down to the field goal kickers Thursday night. Pittsburgh's Shaun Suisham missed his shot at a game-winner and Tennessee's Rob Bironas didn't. Bironas drilled a 40-yarder as time expired, lifting the desperate Titans to a 26-23 upset win over the banged-up Steelers at LP Field. Tennessee (2-4) took over at its 45-yard line with 48 seconds left...
Steelers Radio Network sideline reporter Craig Wolfley filed this set of notes from Nashville where the Steelers were upset by the Tennessee Titans, 26-23.
