As the weather gets colder and the offenses slow down, a real premium is put on the kicker. This week the man whose foot won the day was none other than Adam Vinatieri, Mike Vanderjagt’s sworn enemy. Vinatieri led the hapless Colts to their second victory with a 19-17 win over the Texans. Vinatieri kicked 4 fg’s in what may be the worst win ever! The problem with this victory is the team is now tied with the Rams for the worst record. The Colts will need to lose the final game of the season if they want Luck or the possible trades they will offered for this coveted QB, the one Mel Kiper believes is the second best player he has evaluated behind only John Elway. It’s not Vinatieri’s fault he has such a golden foot, it just loves to win games! Digg this! Share this on Reddit Share this on Facebook Tweet This! Buzz up! Stumble upon something good? 2 Colts players stay home for season finale

The Colts will play Sunday at Jacksonville without starting guard Joe Reitz or backup linebacker A.J. Edds. Both players stayed home Saturday when the team flew to Florida for Indy's season finale. Reitz missed practice all week with an undisclosed ankle injury. Edds has an injury to his left foot that has kept him off the field most of December. The Colts also will be without...

Jaguars-Colts still not sold out

The last meeting of the Jaguars and Colts is normally a hot ticket.  It generally  is a game with big implications, big emotions and a nice warmer weather escape  for Colts fans.  This year it may be blacked out. The Jaguars were granted a 24-hour extension by the NFL today to avoid a television blackout for Sunday’s season finale against the Indianapolis Colts. The team...

Offseason casualties could be severe

The list is long: Saturday, Wayne, Tamme, Mathis and Manning all could be gone next year.  Dallas Clark knows it too: “This is going to be a rough year,” Clark said. “There’s always guys, but this year there are guys, they make this locker room. When you hear, Reggie, you think Colt. Robert, he’s a Colt.” Clark let out an exasperated sigh. “It’s not going to be...

Phil B sounds off

Phillip B. Wilson of the Indianapolis Star has a tough job without question.  From his criticism of both Polian and Caldwell to fan reactions to his work, it's not been a pleasant year as he clearly points out in his blog today. On Polian: The man didn’t answer one question from the local media this season until I caused a fuss last week. Yet on a weekly basis he didn...

Is Wayne's Colts career at end? If so, he's most proud of game streak

Reggie Wayne's NFL career didn't begin with a rush of game-winning touchdown catches and Pro Bowl appearances. On his first day at Indianapolis Colts training camp in 2001, fourth-year quarterback Peyton Manning hit him with a pair of strikes.

And Now, A Word from Our Winner

Ani G won the 18to88 Fantasy League this year. Here is his victory speech. So….what does it take to win a Fantasy Football Championship? Well, for me it took 61 moves, 19 waiver wire acquisitions, 2 trades, and….. LUCK…. of course. No, not Andrew, I’m actually talking about good fortune/big break/fortunateness/godsend, that kind of Luck. Now…It is funny how my Luck...

Kuharsky: FB not much help

Paul Kuharsky points out that despite putting a fullback on the field more often this year it's not provided a great deal of help in the run game: But a fullback alone hasn’t been sufficient to make a difference in the run game. Indianapolis’ average run this season has been 4.6 yards without a fullback and 3.7 yards with one. Finding the right recipe to run most effectively...

Murphy's simple plan works

As defensive coordinator of the Indianapolis Colts, Mike Murphy is all about football. As "Murph," he's all about making football fun.

How we see it: Colts at Jaguars

OK, so this won't exactly be in the best long-term interest of the franchise. Unless, that is, you expect the Rams to do the totally unexpected and upset San Francisco in St. Louis. But trust me, Reggie Wayne, Robert Mathis, Jeff Saturday, Ryan Diem and everyone else on the roster have zero interest in ending a horrible season with a loss just to guarantee the Colts the No. 1...
