Found July 29, 2013 on Pro Football Zone:
During the spring, the 49ers had tight end Vernon Davis lining up as a wide receiver in OTA’s and minicamp. According to BND.com, Davis has once again been lining up as a receiver during training camp. “I’m willing to step up and do whatever they ask me to do,” Davis said Sunday. “They’ve been having me line up at wide receiver, pretty much all over the place. It’s a good thing that I get the opportunity to work with those guys because it not only helps me at the wide receiver position, it also helps me at the tight end position. My feet get quicker, my route-running is better.” 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh likes what he’s seen from Davis. “I see a lot of improvement, in his ability as a football player, his route-running,” Harbaugh said. “He looks really good, in the prime of his career.” With the absence of Michael Crabtree, it’s obvious the 49ers will need to move Davis around to create mismatches.     Need NFL Tickets? New app for beer lines, bathroom

Wouldn't it be nice to check your phone at a sporting event to see how long the line for the bathroom or the concession stand is?  Well, the 49ers are developing such a concept for their new stadium.

San Francisco 49ers Rookie Defensive End Tank Carradine: Future Replacement for Justin Smith?

Size, durability, and speed are a few qualities that define a good defensive end in the NFL.  The 49ers’ starting defensive ends Justin Smith and Ray McDonald excel in these areas.  McDonald is signed with the Niners through 2016 so he shouldn’t be going anywhere anytime soon.  However, as dominant Justin Smith has been, he will not play forever at that position.  Eventually...

San Francisco 49ers expanding TE Vernon Davis’ role

In fantasy football terms, San Francisco 49ers has failed to live up to expectations in recent years. A freakish athlete, Davis has scored just six and five touchdowns in the last two seasons respectively. Davis recorded just 41 receptions (2.5 per game) last year, but that number could be on the rise in 2013 while the Niners are experimenting with Davis at different positions on...

Report: Randy Moss likely done with football

According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, free agent wide receiver Randy Moss likely won’t be playing football this season. With Eagles receiver Jeremy Maclin tearing an ACL and Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta gone for at least six weeks with a dislocated hip, the name “Randy Moss” could pick up some steam in league circles, at least from a speculation standpoint....

49ers' Justin Smith recovered from partially torn triceps

San Francisco 49ers DT Justin Smith says he's fully recovered from the painful partially torn triceps he suffered last season, taking part in training camp as if it never happened. "We don't have a lot more time, so I'm ready to go, and it feels great," Smith said, via Cam Inman of the San Jose Mercury News. Smith lined up at practice with the other Smith...

Colin Kaepernick believes he got faster during the offseason

49ers quarterback Colin Kaerpnick told Peter King of SI.com that he believes he improved his speed this past offseason. I think it’s foreign to most of us that a player can significantly improve his speed, but Colin Kaepernick thinks he’s done just that this offseason. He trained in Atlanta with some speed technicians, including long-jumper Dwight Phillips. “I trained with...

Vernon Davis not playing for stats, just Super Bowl rings

San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis is no long driven by the chance to put up big numbers and go to Pro Bowls, he just wants to win a Super Bowl. “I’m just here to contribute,” Davis said Sunday. “I’m just a piece of the puzzle. I’m not here for statistics. I’m not here to go to the Pro Bowl. I’m just here to do my job and that’s all I can do. Whatever

Jim Harbaugh Says Tarell Brown Should Get His Money Back

Last week Tarell Brown lost over $2 million.  Then, he found out about it on Twitter followed by firing his agent.  Brown said that he hoped to sit down with the 49ers front office to possibly get some of the money back.  His head coach thinks he should get his money.  Jim Harbaugh said that he thought there could be a solution to this issue, according to Comcast Sports Net...

CB Asomugha feeling right at home with Niners

A fresh start in a familiar place is bringing out the best in Nnamdi Asomugha. The four-time All-Pro cornerback felt right at home Saturday as the San Francisco 49ers practiced in pads for the first time in training camp, using the size and press-coverage skills that made him a star during his first stint in the Bay Area. Asomugha is looking to regain the form at age 32 that made...

Colin Kaepernick worked with Olympians to improve his speed

According to Peter King of TheMMQB.com, 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick spent his off-season training with Olympians (Credit: AP Photo) After coming within three points of winning Super Bowl XLVIII, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick spent a portion of his off-season looking to improve on his play. Despite rushing for 415 yards on 63 attempts last season, Kaepernick...

Darius Fleming is Mr. Glass

Jonas Jennings, Ted Ginn Jr, and now Darius Fleming. Every so often there comes a player that is on the 49ers roster that for whatever reason just can’t stay healthy and when that happens I like to bestoy the title of Mr. Glass on them. (For those that do not know who Mr. Glass is, he is the character played by Samuel L. Jackson in the movie Unbreakable.) #49ers LB Darius Fleming...

It was an eventful afternoon as the 49ers held their fourth practice of training camp Sunday. But not all the news was good, especially on the injury front. Inside is report on Darius Fleming's potentially serious knee injury and other news and notes from team headquarters in Santa Clara.
