Rookie T.J. Lang didn’t get overly excited when he was inserted at right tackle with the No. 1 offense today.He believes the primary reason he was put there was because Allen Barbre (concussion) and Mark Tauscher (knee) couldn’t practice. “They needed someone to fill in over there,” said Lang in the locker room this afternoon after practice. “But I’m not sure what the plan’s going to be for the rest of the week. Just got to take it day by day.”It was originally thought Lang would compete with Barbre and Breno Giacomini for the starting job at right tackle during training camp, but that never materialized because Lang was shifted to guard. He also has filled in for Chad Clifton at left tackle.Lang said shifting positions has been challenging. “You kind of feel like you’re settling into one spot and then you move over,” he said. “But I think it’s also a good thing, just to have the versatility to play left, right, guard, tackle, it doesn’t matter.
