According to a press release issued to Players View by the Philadelphia Eagles, the team has signed veteran QB Trent Edwards to a one year deal. The terms were not disclosed in the release.
Edwards made 32 starts with Buffalo Bills who eventually gave the starting nod to current QB Ryan Fitzpatrick. Edwards has completed 60.5% of his passes for 6,019 yards and 26 touchdowns over his career which has also included short stops in Oakland and Jacksonville.
Michael Vick’s 2011 back-up Vince Young is not expected back with the Eagles and this signing pretty much confirms that assumption.
Ironically, it was Young himself who dubbed this latest incarnation of the Eagles as “The Dream Team.”
Edwards, played his college ball at Stanford the same college that is generating the presumed number one pick in the 2012 NFL Draft Andrew Luck
