Veteran White makes strong impression

By Tim BrittonFOXBORO, Mass. -- One of the lesser-known names that stepped up big-time on Sunday night for the Patriots was linebacker Tracy White, who split time with Jeff Tarpinian across from Rob Ninkovich. A ninth-year man out of Howard, White was steady on the second level for much of the night. He also contributed to one of the game's key plays. On Ninkovich's late-game interception return for touchdown, White knocked tight end Dustin Keller to the ground, eliminating one of Mark Sanchez's options and clearing space for Ninkovich to cut off Sanchez's throwing lane to LaDainian Tomlinson. "Tracy brings a lot to the football team. He's very professional, works as hard as anybody, comes in early, stays late, good physical condition, runs well, he's tough," head coach Bill Belichick said.
