(Eds: APNewsNow. With AP Photos.) Facing the Philadelphia Eagles and Michael Vick will easily be the biggest challenge to date for Bears rookie free safety Chris Conte.
Conte has brought some stability to the secondary. The Bears have given up one play of 25 yards or longer since Conte became the starter after allowing 16 in the first five games.
The Bears have been lining Conte up deeper at free safety and the former cornerback made his first career interception against Tampa Bay last week.
Conte not only will face a faster offense when the Bears play the Eagles on Monday night, but he'll do it without the benefit of veteran Chris Harris, who was cut.

Atlanta hip-hop artist T.I. is quite a big fan of Eagles QB Mike Vick, so much so that he actually went to prison for ten months back in 2009-2010. The Eagles and Bears each entered last season’s late November at Soldier Field with 7-3 records. After the Eagles spotted the Bears a big lead early, they fought back and nearly pulled off a miracle come-from-behind victory. But it was not to be as the Bears held on for a 31-26 win. The loss snapped the Eagles’ three-game win streak.Michael Vick completed 29 of 44 passes for...
After the Redskins game, I noted that despite losing, Washington successfully exploited a weakness in Michael Vick’s game by blitzing him on almost every third down and goal line situation. Naturally, I expected Rob Ryan’s physical Cowboys defense to pursue a similar strategy last Sunday.
In some ways Dallas did mold their initial game plan around this strategy. Ryan often blitzed...

Labeled by Dallas defensive coordinator Rob Ryan as the "All Hype Team" during the preseason, the Eagles played a near-perfect game in improving their record to 3-4 and snapping their five-game home losing streak. Quarterback Michael Vick and running back LeSean McCoy led a relentless offensive...
