If the video of Minnesota Vikings star RB Adrian Peterson‘s rehab workout is any indication, it looks like he’s going to be back and ready to play the 2012-13 NFL season and he’ll be in tip-top shape. Josina Anderson of ESPN had a chance to sit down with Peterson at his rehab facility and Peterson said that he’s currently on schedule to be back for the start of the upcoming season after tearing his ACL and MCL last year. Peterson tore his ACL and MCL in the Vikings 33-26 win over the Washington Redskins on December 27th. Peterson had surgery 4 days later and has been working hard ever since to be ready for the start of the 2012-13 season. Despite missing 4 1/2 games, Peterson put up solid numbers last year running for 970 yds and 12 TD’s. If 2nd year QB Christian Ponder is able to improve on his decent rookie year and the Vikings get Peterson back, they’ll have a chance of contending in the NFC North. See the complete interview...

Vikings' RB Gerhart ready if called upon

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. The familiar refrain coming from Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier and general manager Rick Spielman whenever discussion inevitably comes to the running back position and rehabbing Adrian Peterson has always been, "We have confidence in Toby." Toby Gerhart, who seemed like a luxury pick two years ago, has been Minnesota's security blanket...

Greg Childs: "I Will Be Onterrio Smith."

Who...

New defensive coordinator similar to Frazier

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. For the Minnesota Vikings, the more things change, the more the stay the same. Historical look at Vikings’ drafted QBs

Christian Ponder is only the fifth quarterback drafted by the Vikings to enter a season as the starter. The others have had mixed results, but Ponder has more starting experience than all but one of them when they were getting their first shot to begin a season as the starter.

Notebook: RB market still has skilled vets

The Vikings have shown no real interest in a veteran complement to Toby Gerhart if Adrian Peterson isn’t ready at the start of the season, but there are still some experienced options available if needed. Plus, the NFL will have a few roster-related topics to discuss at the owners meetings Tuesday and the Steelers have overhauled their offensive line.
