I bet when you pulled up ESPN.com or NFL.com Monday morning to check out the scores from week 2 in the NFL, you weren’t expecting to see the Patriots loose to the Cardinals or the Cowboys loose to the Seahawks. So much for the 13.5 point spread Vegas gave the Patriots or the premonition from NFL pundits that after their win over the Giants on opening night, the Cowboys were the team to beat in the NFC East. It’s only the end of week two, but who would have thought that the Saints would be 0-2 and the Cardinals would be 2-0. Maybe the Saints just can’t play well against running quarterbacks. Last week, RG3 and the Redskins put up 40 points against them and this week its Cam Newton and the Panthers putt up 35 points. Not only is their defense off to a horrendous start, their star quarterback Drew Brees is playing like a run of the mill QB. His completion percentage is barely above 50% and he’s only thrown 4 tds to go along with his 4 ints. It looks like the loss of head coach Sean Payton is hurting them more than they expected.

If Sunday’s games weren’t enough of a conundrum, Peyton Manning decides to throw 3 ints in the 1st quarter in the Broncos Monday Night Football match-up against the Falcons. Credit needs to be give to Falcons Defensive Coordinator Mike Nolan for throwing coverages at Peyton that he’s never seen before. Nolan’s movement of the Falcons linebackers and cornerbacks was brilliant and caused at least 2 of the ints. Manning was able to mount a comeback in the 2nd half but it simply wasn’t enough to make-up for his 3 ints earlier in the game as the Broncos loss to the Falcons 27-21. Check out highlights from the MNF match-up here. You can also checkout the Cardinals upset of the Patriots here and the Seahawks smashing of the Cowboys here.
