There is no doubt football is a violent game but this hit on Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee by Golden Tate was vicious.
Tate even celebrated after the hit, crawling to the ground and then pointing to his name on the jersey.
Not sure it was right to celebrate a hit where the player didn’t even know it was coming? Then again, Tate is a wide receiver.
Lee would be taken off...
IRVING People in both the Seattle and Dallas organizations have been informed that the vicious and illegal crackback block administered to Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee by Seahawks receiver Golden Tate will result in a 21,000 fine to Tate, sources say.
In reviewing the play from Sunday's 27-7 Seahawks win, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said to the media, "I'm sure they will...
I know many people believe that the Seahawks wide receiver Golden Tate should be fined for lighting up Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee during yesterday’s game. But I’ll break down why the hit is clean in my opinion.
Lee was not a defenseless player. Tate hit him straight on and not on the side.
Lee failed to guard himself and keep his head on a swivel.
Tate didn’t lead with...

After not being penalized for a huge block on Dallas Cowboys Sean Lee this Sunday, Seattle’s Golden Tate believed he was not going to receive punishment for the play.
The NFL, of course, disagrees.

This is yet another opportunity to call out the replacement refs as they missed a huge illegal block delivered to Sean Lee from Golden Tate, one of Seattle’s many hopeful playmakers.
This week Seattle’s entire team can take on the title ‘Beast Mode’ as they smash a Cowboys team who looked great in their opener against the Super Bowl champion New York Giants. Their success...
The Seahawks weren’t very pleasant hosts to the Cowboys this weekend. Seattle’s running game had their way with the Cowboys’ defense, rushing for 182 yards on 41 carries on their way to a 27-7 win. Golden Tate knocked the stuffing out of Dallas linebacker Sean Lee. And after the game, drunken Seattle slobs ganged up on some Cowgirls fans.
WARNING: Spicy language.
In my eyes it was a good hit. In Pete Carroll's eyes it was a good hit. (By good we mean legal of course)
Pete Carroll: "Oh ya - I knew Golden Tate was fined. It was a fantastic block, in their eyes he clipped the guys facemask, in chin area"— Q Smith (@NWSBQ) September 19, 2012

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee is ready to move on from the
flattening block he took from Seattle receiver Golden Tate, who has
apparently been fined by the NFL.
SEATTLE -- Seattle wide receiver Golden Tate pivoted, launched and sent Dallas linebacker Sean Lee into the air, then onto his back with a clean, explosive hit. The block sprung quarterback Russell Wilson for a scrambling first down. More important, it encapsulated the Seahawks’ bullying ways Sunday in a 27-7 win over the Dallas Cowboys (1-1) in Seattle’s home opener in CenturyLink...
The NFL is a funny thing. Some weeks teams click on all cylinders. Everything in the playbook works, the ball bounces the right way, and the team likely enjoys a great deal of success. But then, with no rhyme or reason, there are games like the one we just saw the Dallas Cowboys play this afternoon. Games in which everyone is out of sync, (almost) nothing in the playbook works...
