Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is running, after all.
In a pool, that is.
Peterson tried some light running through the water early this week at Vikings headquarters as part of his rehabilitation program from a torn left anterior cruciate ligament, according to his father, Nelson.
Two weeks ago, Peterson raised some concern when he told KFXN-FM he planned to start running Feb. 28 - presumably outside of a pool. Last week at the NFL scouting combine, Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said he didn't want Peterson to rush the process, that the running back needed to remain patient, that he had talked to Peterson about it.
Peterson is splitting time between Houston and Minnesota during the offseason. He is in Minnesota for the week, possibly longer.

Originally drafted—but not signed—by the Dodgers, current Minnesota Vikings safety Jarrad Page attended an open tryout for the team on Thursday.
The push for a new stadium in Minnesota - outlined Thursday in a formal announcement of a $975 million plan among the Vikings , the city of Minneapolis, the state and Gov. Mark Dayton to build the team's new home in Minneapolis - hasn't stopped Vikings ownership from contributing to recent football operations.

It's the day Vikings fans have been waiting for. Minnesota, team and Minneapolis leaders haved called a press conference to unveil a new plan for a stadium near the Metrodome.
After meeting Wednesday evening, staffers were expected to work into the night finalizing terms of agreement on a stadium deal. The details will be released this morning, key lawmakers said.
This probably won’t end well. Not verified, yet likely legit, Brett Favre has joined Twitter this afternoon. His first tweet came just after 2 p.m. EST via @BrettFavre4. He’s following three accounts: Donald Driver, ESPN & the NFL. Mark our words, this guy will have a gig on the WWL by the draft in April. No way he can possibly stay quiet through another summer. Few...
Slick. Very slick.
If you appreciate a good arm twisting and not-so-subtle pressure, you've got to love how the Minnesota Vikings owners and some high-level politicians are handling the latest stadium proposal.
They're calling it the "People's Stadium" and practically shouting from rooftops that construction of a new stadium on the Metrodome site will create...
Oh, glorious day. It’s nice to know that things have slowed down enough for him to find the time to authorize one of his lackeys to register a Twitter account for him. I eagerly look forward to the many interesting updates from the Ol’ Gunslinger about how the John Deere lawnmower is running and how [...]
With the rumors of Brett Favre considering a return to the NFL past its expiration date, the Mississippi gunslinger is looking to rent real estate in everyone’s heads by entering the world of social media. “Hello friends, family, and fans. This is my official account I finally found the time to join twitter,” Favre tweeted...Read the Rest...
Brett Favre was one of the opposing players targeted by the New Orleans Saints’ bounty program. The Saints particularly went after Favre during the 2009 NFC Championship Game, hitting him mercilessly and bruising him severely. Favre doesn’t hold a grudge against them, saying it’s part of the game.
“I’m not pissed. It’s football. I don’t think anything less of those...
The trail of evidence looks so tight against the New Orleans Saints that the NFL doesn’t need an admission from former Saint Remi Ayodele. He didn’t admit to anything when he first arrived with the Vikings, but he didn’t deny it, either.
Vikings running back Adrian Peterson continues to be on schedule in his rehabilitation from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

The NFL's investigation into the New Orleans Saints was met with some expected fire from the Minnesota Vikings, who were beaten up by the Saints in the 2009 NFC Championship Game during Minnesota's 31-28 overtime loss.
The league concluded that Saints players, then-defensive coordinator Gregg Williams and at least one assistant participated...
