Despite no interaction with players for almost three months while in the thick of a league lockout, Vikings coaches say their schedule is full.
"People ask me, 'What are you doing with all your time because of the lockout,' and I'm like, 'Believe me, there's plenty to do,'" tight ends coach Jimmy Johnson said.
For one, Johnson cites the team's new offense -- led by coordinator Bill Musgrave -- that requires plenty of meetings and planning.
The team's lockout coaching plan also requires a little creativity. The Vikings have more time than ever before to dedicate to scouting future opponents. In a typical year, coaches must game-plan for the upcoming season when not organizing OTAs.
As of last week, however, wide receivers coach George Stewart said thick scouting reports have been filed on all 13 opponents for next year.
