Minnesota Vikings cornerback Cedric Griffin was benched during Sunday's game against NFC North rival Detroit Lions after he was torched by wideout Titus Young for a 57-yard touchdown.
Young breezed by Griffin early in the first quarter, prompting coach Leslie Frazier to go with Benny Sapp and Marcus Sherels for the rest of the game.
"We made that switch to try to get someone in there that would slow the Titus Youngs of the world down," Frazier said. "It's hard to play the kind of defense we want to play if you don't execute that part of the defense."
Griffin, 29, has collected 62 tackles and no interceptions in 13 games this season.
