PLAYERS: Jarrad Page
TEAMS: Minnesota Vikings
Perhaps trying to rekindle an old flame, Vikings safety Jarrad Page is switching sports — or, at least, exploring the opportunity. reports (via Dylan Hernandez of the L.A. Times) that Page attended an open tryout for the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday. While it’s a decision straight out of left field (see what I did there?), Page is all too familiar with America’s pastime, playing centerfield at UCLA for one year (2004-05) before the Dodgers drafted — but not signed — him a year later. (Oh, and in case you’re wondering, he drove in three home runs and 19 RBI in 120 plate appearances for the Bruins.) When baseball flamed out, Page turned his attention back to the gridiron. A seventh-round selection of the Chiefs in 2006, he’s since become a journeyman, bouncing from the Patriots to the Eagles to, most recently, the Vikings.

Vikings' Adrian Peterson is doing swimmingly

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is running, after all. In a pool, that is. Peterson tried some light running through the water early this week at Vikings headquarters as part of his rehabilitation program from a torn left anterior cruciate ligament, according to his father, Nelson. Two weeks ago, Peterson raised some concern when he told KFXN-FM he planned to start...

The voting, not the waiting, is the hardest part

ST. PAUL, Minn. Amid the joy of announcing a 975 million agreement between the Minnesota Vikings, state leaders and Minneapolis leaders, there seemed to be a certain hesitation still present among the many political figures who took to the podium during Thursday's 45-minute news conference. An agreement is in place, but everyone spoke of the work left to be done. Heard in those...

Burning question: how do the Vikings build around Christian Ponder?

The Minnesota Vikings surprised most people by taking Christian Ponder with the twelfth pick in the 2011 NFL draft. Ponder wasn't supposed to be the quarterback of the present, with Donovan McNabb in the fold. McNabb proved ineffective, though, and Ponder ended up starting ten games as a rookie. The results from that playing time were, well, not good. A number of Ponder'...

Alert: Brett Favre Is Now On Twitter!

This probably won’t end well. Not verified, yet likely legit, Brett Favre has joined Twitter this afternoon. His first tweet came just after 2 p.m. EST via ‏ @BrettFavre4. He’s following three accounts: Donald Driver, ESPN & the NFL. Mark our words, this guy will have a gig on the WWL by the draft in April. No way he can possibly stay quiet through another summer. Few...

Holler: Ayodele’s answer may have said enough

The trail of evidence looks so tight against the New Orleans Saints that the NFL doesn’t need an admission from former Saint Remi Ayodele. He didn’t admit to anything when he first arrived with the Vikings, but he didn’t deny it, either.
