According to Jeremy Fowler of St. Paul Pioneer Press, defensive tackle Kevin Williams told him that he’s approached the Minnesota Vikings about a contract extension.
Williams is slated to make $7 million in 2012, which is the final year of his current deal. He also has an option that would pay him $16.76 for 2013-2014 seasons.
“They might not feel the same way,” said Williams.”We have a lot of things to take care of between now and then. My main thing is to have a good year and whatever happens after that happens after that.”
Williams doesn’t plan on having a bad year in 2012.
“But I don’t plan on doing that, and I know they don’t plan on me doing that,” Williams said. “I plan on having the best year ever, and we can move on from there. You definitely want to show you can still be one of the top guys, if not the top dog in the league.”
I think Williams will be back in Minnesota next season if he’s willing to take less than what he’s worth on the open market. I don
