Seen as virtually a shoe-in to land free agent receiver Mike Wallace, the Miami Dolphins learned that the Minnesota VIkings are reportedly willing to jump in the fray for Wallace as well.
That isn't good news for Miami, who'll have to spend at least $13 million in order to land Wallace, reports Jeff Darlington of NFL Network, via PFT.
With Percy Harvin traded away to Seattle, the Vikings would love to add an explosive receiver such as Wallace. The question is whether this interest in Wallace is casual or very serious. Whatever you do, don't turn to Minnesota GM Rick Spielman for answers.
A while back, he said the Vikings had “no intent” to trade Percy, so at the NFL Combine, when he talked about the dangers of spending big in free agency on players who their prior team decided not to keep, we really can't hold him to that.
This news will at least drive up Wallace's price. Something the Dolphins should be pretty nervous about.
