Minnesota's offense hasn't done much well in the first two preseason games.
Then again, the Vikings have kept the league MVP on the sideline.
The absence of running back Adrian Peterson caught the eye of wide receiver Greg Jennings when he walked off the field after a rough series in a recent exhibition game. At first, Jennings said he was concerned. Then he realized who was missing.
So this week should give the Vikings a better feel for where they're at. The plan is to play Peterson at San Francisco on Sunday, though he probably won't be in as long as the rest of the starters.
Coach Leslie Frazier says Wednesday he sees the game against the 49ers as an important assessment.

If things don’t work out, there’s always Adrian Peterson.
The Minnesota Vikings’ offensive line, so unstable at this time last year, grew up at a tremendous rate and played well in the 2012 regular season. It was expected to be a comforting presence within the team this season, but in their game against Buffalo, they let QB Christian Ponder get sacked twice and Matt Cassel...
The man who is referred ‘Purple Jesus’ came back from a devastating knee injury last season to have one of the best seasons by a RB ever. It was an amazing recovery and season for the 2012 NFL MVP. Apparently, the blood of Jesus is what fuels Adrian. Here is the excerpt from The Christian Post:

Is that a humble-brag? Yes it is. But we'll get to that in a moment.
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson hosted a Reddit AMA yesterday, where he answered a bunch of questions from anonymous weirdoes. It wasn't quite as eventful as the one that Fred Smoot hosted (Okra Patch, anyone?), but it was both entertaining and insightful, particularly if you're a...

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Greg Jennings reached veteran status in his seven years with the Green Bay Packers and didn't look forward to each year's four preseason games.
Like many of the league's established players, Jennings preferred to get his work in during practice and leave game action to those fighting for roster spots or their NFL careers. Jennings knew the Green...
It’s the third week of the NFL preseason, which is usually the week when teams put their best foot forward in the dress rehearsals. Coaches often play their starters well into the third quarter, and players ramp up the intensity now that roster cuts are around the corner.
Here are some important storylines to keep an eye on as the regular season quickly approaches.
Can the Bears...
Greg Jennings is entering his eighth NFL season, but he knows he and Christian Ponder have work to do before the start of the regular season so Jennings isn’t taking his old approach to the preseason. Plus, injury updates and notes from Wednesday’s long, steamy practice.

When it comes to fantasy football draft strategy, nobody ever seems to want the receivers in the middle. Sure, we’re all psyched to draft Calvin Johnson or AJ Green at the top, and we’re drooling at the opportunity to snag Kenbrell Thompkins or DeAndre Hopkins in the late rounds, but in between, well, in between is a good opportunity...
