The Penalty Flag:
The Minnesota Vikings were soundly defeated by the Green Bay Packers 10-24 and the biggest truth the game proved is the continued decline of the value of franchise running backs in the NFL. Adrian Peterson was the biggest story going into the game, because he was only 9 yards shy of breaking Eric Dickerson’s single season record with 2,097 yards after coming back from major knee surgery. However Peterson may have led the Vikings to the Playoffs at 10-6, but the real killer for the Vikings against the Green Bay Packers was a lack of a franchise quarterback. Christian Ponder was ruled out of the game due to injury and Joe Webb gave a horrendous performance only completing 11 out of 30 of his passes only 1 garbage touchdown and 1 int.… Read more

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder said his injured right arm wouldn't have allowed him to play in Saturday night's playoff game in Green Bay. On Monday, he demonstrated why.
With the team cleaning out the locker room Monday, Ponder showed off severe bruising in his right arm, the result of a hit of a hit from Packers safety Morgan Burnett in the final...
Joe Webb's size and athletic ability tantalized former Minnesota Vikings' coach Brad Childress, the type of talent that can tease NFL coaches and is hard to give up on. Minnesota drafted Webb in the sixth round of the 2010 draft out of Alabama-Birmingham and had decided to turn the former college quarterback into a wide receiver.
The 6-foot-4 Webb is big, strong and fast...
Joe Webb got the start for the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday against the Packers. Webb didn't do very well. The Vikings lost to the Packers 24-10, and couldn't move the ball in the air at all. The normal starting quarterback Christian Ponder had a “deep tricep bruise” that kept him out of the game. Check out the picture above and you will know the reason for him...
Packers fans aren’t going to let Adrian Peterson forget just how close he was to breaking Eric Dickerson’s record. Nine yards short. That’s it. This banner was spotted by KARE-11 (Minneapolis-St.Paul) reporter Keith Leventhal at a Packers bar earlier today.
It’s been making the rounds on the internet today and new developments are surfacing that Peterson himself might be...
GREEN BAY, Wis. Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder is inactive for Saturday night's playoff game at Green Bay, unable to get over the sore right elbow he hurt in last week's regular-season finale against the Packers.
Joe Webb will start for Minnesota. NBC first reported the news on its broadcast of Saturday's earlier playoff game between the Cincinnati Bengals...
The Green Bay Packers washed the taste of last year's first-round elimination out of their mouths with a convincing win over the Vikings, who were forced to play behind inexperienced back-up QB Joe Webb
Adrian Peterson was shut down and Christian Ponder sidelined.
That left the Minnesota Vikings short-handed, overmatched and barely able to do much of anything against the Green Bay Packers.
Peterson was held to 99 yards, after gaining 199 and 210 in the first two games against Green Bay, and Joe Webb struggled in place of Ponder as the Packers rolled to a 24-10 victory over the...
Minnesota running back Adrian Peterson was a full participant in Friday's practice and is listed as probable for Saturday's playoff game.Fantasy Spin:He has been on the injury report for one reason or another for most of the season, but that didn't keep him from coming within eight yards of Eric Dickerson's NFL single-season rushing record. The Vikings star running...
Wild Card Round: Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings
This Week’s Pick
Green Bay Packers
Adrian Peterson runs for over 100 but under 200. Ponder makes the mistakes he didn’t last week and the Vikings struggle outdoors. Tramon Williams redeems himself and the Packers go on to San Francisco.
The Minnesota Vikings will play against the Green Bay Packers this Saturday in the opening round of the NFC playoffs. NBC will carry this game which has a 8 pm EST kickoff from Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI.
These two teams met last Sunday in that game the Vikings upended the Packers to earn a playoff birth. The Packers lost out on a first round bye with that loss but will host...
As all the sports world knows, the Green Bay Packers will face the Minnesota Vikings for the second time in six days tomorrow evening on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field. The Packers won the first game several weeks ago, and the Vikes took the game on Sunday. This game? Well, it will be cold. But as Packer fans we hope that, in the end, the ViQueens feel much colder much longer...
