EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Frustrations from a long, difficult season were starting to be released in the Minnesota Vikings locker room following Sundays 42-20 loss to the New Orleans Saints.
Following the game, stars Adrian Peterson and Jared Allen were unhappy about their playing time Sunday. Linebacker Chad Greenway admitted the Vikings just arent a good enough team. But what veteran tight end Visanthe Shiancoe witnessed Sunday is even more disturbing.
"I seen a lot of effort from a lot of guys," Shiancoe said before pausing. "I would say, you know, you could see some guys hung it up. Not a lot though. Like a very small handful of guys."
As one of the few players available during the medias open locker room on Monday, Shiancoe shared his views of what happened Sunday during perhaps the most disappointing loss of this 2-12 season; a 22-point defeat at home to a team Minnesota played in the NFC Championship game just 23 months ago.
