TEAMS: Minnesota Vikings, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers
The Minnesota Vikings signed veteran cornerback Benny Sapp on Wednesday.
Sapp, who played for the Vikings in 2008-09, was cut by the Miami Dolphins after they were torched by the New England Patriots in a season-opening loss on national television.
The Vikings' need for Sapp came to light after the team placed Antoine Winfield on injured reserve with a broken clavicle. Winfield suffered the injury during Monday's 45-7 loss to the undefeated Green Bay Packers.
The 30-year-old Sapp has collected 215 tackles, 2.5 sacks and six interceptions in 103 career NFL games.
