Mike Wallace is the top free agent wide receiver on the market, and a few teams are expected to pursue him. The Miami Dolphins have been mentioned as the team expected to make the strongest run at Wallace, but new reports say the Minnesota Vikings and Tennessee Titans will also go after the speedster. According to NFL.com’s Jeff Darlington, who used to be a beat writer covering the Dolphins, Miami has Wallace at the top of their list. He says the team has about $37 million in salary cap space to make a play for someone like Wallace, who will likely receive a contract similar to the five-year, $55.55 million deal Vincent Jackson got from Tampa Bay last season. Darlington also reports that the Dolphins expect the Vikings to get involved in the bidding for Wallace. In addition to Miami and Minnesota, SI’s Peter King said Tuesday on “Pro Football Talk” on NBC Sports that the Titans could also be in the mix for Wallace. The Dolphins make the most sense for Wallace because they have th...

Some Final Thoughts on Mike Wallace in Pittsburgh

In case you didn’t know this, free agency in the NFL starts on Tuesday and one if it’s most prized catches is currently a Pittsburgh Steeler named Mike Wallace. Tonight at midnight, teams can start contacting players who are free agents and can agree to terms of a deal even before the official signing day. I fully expect Wallace to be in place with a new team before that date...

Steelers WR Mike Wallace Sitting Pretty Monday Evening After Recent Moves

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace has to be feeling pretty good Monday evening thanks to some of the things that transpired around the NFL since Friday. For starters, the Steelers were unable to place the franchise tag on Wallace, as expected, and now he is assured to hit the free agent market next Tuesday evening. In addition to that, the Kansas City Chiefs have reportedly...

Schefter: Dolphins have a chance at landing Mike Wallace

ESPN’s Adam Schefter was asked if he believes the Miami Dolphins have a chance at landing Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace in free agency. RT @cmre24: You thinks Miami has a chance of getting Mike Wallace? … Yup. Dolphins know they need to add weapons. Wallace on their radar. — Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 5, 2013 I think the Dolphins are the front-runners to sign...

Vikings rumors: Mike Wallace in, Percy Harvin out?

The Minnesota Vikings are reportedly one of the leading suitors for former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace, and his addition could mean the team ultimately parts ways with dynamic playmaker Percy Harvin. There have been multiple documented issues between the Vikings and Harvin. He’s had several blowups with coaches, and Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports reports the...

Congressman Peter King Is Going To Fight A Kickboxer On Saturday

Who can forget Congressman Peter King (R-NY) standing up in the face of terror and holding hearings on Muslim “Radicalization”? If it doesn’t work four times, hold a fifth hearing. Ward-Gatti had nothing on King-Islam. Much to King’s dismay, mosques (80% of which are jihadist according to him) are still in our midst so he’s decided to take on a new opponent. A New York...

Dangers of opening wallets for WRs

Mike Wallace has blazing speed that can char a secondary. Nobody in the NFL caught more passes of 40-plus yards between 2007 and 2011 than Greg Jennings. They are the two most attractive wide receivers in the upcoming class of unrestricted free agents. But based upon the history of the position, it may prove a costly mistake to ink either to the big-money contracts both are expected...

The Terrible Podcast – Talking Free Agency, Wallace, Harrison Contract, Worilds, Lewis & More Episode

Season 3, Episode 82 of The Terrible Podcast is up and co-host David Todd and I talk about the upcoming free agent signing period and how good Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace must be feeling right now. We will tell you why. Restructure or pay cut for linebacker James Harrison? We go over the numbers again and add Jason Worilds into this discussion as well. We also...

Adam Schefter tweets about a possible Dolphins and Mike Wallace connection

March 12th is getting closer and closer and the start to NFL free agency is just around the corner. Soon the rumors will end and the excitement around the different NFL fan bases will grow or the disappointment and concern will start to linger. Despite slapping the franchise tag on Randy Starks the Dolphins still have plenty of money to throw around to help out Ryan Tannehill...

Who Wants To Help Me Beat These Dead Horses?

Johnny and Megan have 4 words for ya...THUMBS UP MIKE UTLEY! We are all painfully aware that, until conference tournaments really start to pick up steam next week, we are still caught up that barren wind-swept moonscape (Peter King alert!) of a sports dead zone. It sucks. There aren’t enough food post ideas to help carry us through. Unfortunately, ESPN is in the same boat with...

Richard Sherman Busting Skip Bayless Is ESPN Theater

I try to ignore Skip Bayless stuff as best I can. I already have to focus overmuch on Peter King. There’s only so much overt media trolling one can consume before being forced to stab their eyeballs, ear drums and frontal lobe. Bayless is also fairly easy to ignore if you really want to. He’s white noise, hardly central to what’s going on in the league. But enough people (actually...

Renewed push for Jack Johnson pardon

U.S. lawmakers seeking a presidential pardon for Jack Johnson, the first black world heavyweight boxing champion imprisoned a century ago for his romantic relationships with white women, renewed their efforts on Tuesday. Senators Harry Reid and John McCain joined congressmen Peter King and William ''Mo'' Cowan to reintroduce a resolution urging President Barack Obama...

FOX Sports 1 Network Promises Even More Free Live UFC Events

People are pretty funny. For years, a lot of us have been openly begging and praying for any of the major networks to step up to the plate and start a 24/7 sports channel that could rival ESPN. NBC, bless its big greedy heart, has given it a shot, but mostly to hilariously awful results. That’s what happens when your best show features Peter King and Mikey Florio pretending to...
