FootBasket's friends at Reservation for Six reports some really interesting news about the Minnesota Vikings. Bryan Brackney is reporting that Tarvaris Jackson has edged out Sage Rosenfels for the backup quarterback job. Rosenfels was traded to Minnesota this offseason as he was expected to be the team's starter.Apparently, that is not the case now. Before Brett Favre was signed, Jackson and Rosenfels were competing for the starting job. So in the next season or two, Jackson will be the starting quarterback when Brett Favre retires, as of right now it seems. If Jackson were to start in the next two seasons, he would be greatly improved after learning from Favre.Good for T-Jack. But let's get to the sad story for the Vikes. Minnesota has announced they have released wide receiver Bobby Wade. Although Wade is gone, the Vikes have signed wide receiver Greg Lewis. Lewis was recently released by the New England Patriots after a successful season with the Philadelphia Eagles a year ago. I wish all the luck to the players mentioned, and hopefully, things will be swell coming into the 2009-10 season.
