Patriots DT Vince Wilfork seizes the moment

The Patriots have been highly successful in Vince Wilfork’s eight years with the team. But the defensive tackle is only wearing one Super Bowl ring, which he won in his rookie season in 2004. Wilfork fully grasps the opportunity he has to earn his second ring in two weeks after the Patriots defeated the Ravens, 23-20, yesterday in the AFC Championship game. “It’s a...

Patriots survive to reach Super Bowl

Tom Brady has the New England Patriots back in the Super Bowl. The Patriots beat the stunned Ravens 23-20 in the AFC Championship Game Sunday after Baltimore's Billy Cundiff missed a 32-yard field goal attempt with 11 seconds remaining that would have tied the score. Brady scored the winning touchdown when he leaped over the vaunted Ravens defense in the fourth quarter. His...

Tom Brady didn’t sleep well Sunday night

Tom Brady had one of his more memorable post-game moments on the AFC title game podium last night. “Well, I sucked pretty bad today, but our defense saved us,” Brady said. “And I’m going to try to go out and do a better job in a couple weeks.” It was an interesting moment. Brady was…

Pats offense meets Ravens defense for AFC title

Pats Defense Not Pretty, but Make Plays Where It Counts

In 2011, the New England Patriots may have finished with the second worst defense, but they’re Super Bowl bound—and you cannot take that away from them. Granted, the majority of New England’s success this season came from the arm of Tom Brady, but in their AFC Championship victory over the Baltimore Ravens, their defense made plays when it counted the most.  The Patriots...

While it is always fun for the media to talk about Bill Belichick and Tom Brady and how dominant the Patriots have been over the past decade, there is only so much they can say about it.  Highlights from Super Bowl 42 will be a go-to move, but with two weeks off between the conference championship games and the Super Bowl writers need quotes.  They aren’t going to get any...

Flacco leads Ravens to 10 points, lead in third quarter

Tom Brady drove the Patriots down the field for a field goal on New England’s first possession of the second half. Not to be outdone, Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco drove the Raves down the field. He didn’t match the field goal though. On a third down, Flacco hit Torrey Smith for a 29-yard touchdown. That gave the Ravens a 17-16 lead. Baltimore rookie LaQuan Williams...

BenJarvus Green-Ellis churned up 50 yards on eight carries and scored from seven yards out in the second quarter. Tom Brady, meanwhile...
