Found October 23, 2012 on NFL Draft Zone:

This week rookie WLB Vontaze Burfict had 15 tackles in the Bengals’ Week 7 loss to the Steelers.  It looks like the Bengals got themselves a steal, after everyone wanted to pass on Burifct.  Despite first-round talent, Burfict went undrafted in April due to a bad Combine and off-field concerns. He’s proceeded to start five games and has led the team in tackles in three of those games. Over the last four weeks, Vontaze has 36 tackles, one sack and two pass breakups playing in the Will linebacker spot.
Burfict is playing like he is a defensive rookie of the year. He has been elite on a team that has struggled dearly.  They will need Vontaze to keep it up, this goes to show you, that you only need one person to trust in you.  In this case, Marvin Lewis deserves an award for taking a risk on a person that everyone considered a “Thug”.  I love that Vontaze is shining, because he has been a player that I have loved since last season.  Keep Ballin Tez

Bengals forget there are two halves to football games

At times this season the Bengals have looked pretty good. At times in almost every game the Bengals have looked pretty good. These times are usually in the first half of games. Week after week we see the Bengals squander the good play of the first half for absolutely miserable play in the second. Week 1: The Bengals faced a Ravens team that was looking to set the tone early. After...

WDW Episode 86 – Sometimes You Just Need to Vent

It’s been a rough few weeks in the Queen City. I know that as Bengals fans we have endured years, and years, and years, and years of heartbreak. We’ve all grown tired of the losing. One might think that by now our fanbase should be used to the losing. But strangely, even more this year, the losing seems to sting just a bit more. Maybe its because we thought the franchise had...

Instead of breakthrough, Bengals get beat-down

Instead of a breakthrough, the Cincinnati Bengals ended up with another AFC North beat-down. And now, they're in deep trouble. A 24-17 loss to the injury-depleted Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night dropped the Bengals (3-4) to third place in the division. They were looking for a win that would show they were ready to compete for the division title, but instead fell to 0-6 against...

Cincinnati Bengals: Week 8 NFL Power Rankings (#27)

Last week: 23 (-4) Record: 3-4 Before the season, I picked the Bengals to be this year’s team to go from in the playoffs to 5 wins or fewer because I thought they were the weakest of the 12 playoff teams last year, coming in tied for the fewest wins with 9 and having not [...]

A.J. Green Bottled Up by Steelers

A.J. Green had a quiet night Sunday against the Steelers. The Bengals wide receiver caught just one pass for eight yards.Fantasy Spin:Green was targeted six times but thanks to the stifling defense of Pittsburgh cornerback Ike Taylor, he only came down with one of them. Luckily for fantasy owners the one catch was a touchdown, which allowed the talented 24-year-old to partially salvaging...

From across the pond part 3

The Bengals, after their 3rd straight defeat of the season to AFC North rival Pittsburgh Steelers are now sobering up to the harsh reality that their current form suggests they’re one of the bottom dwellers of the NFL. Adding further insult to injury is that they’re now 1-3 within the AFC North and have been humiliated by the previously winless Cleveland Browns, happy times they...

Dick LeBeau Stops Bengals On A Dime

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau had a little unexpected surprise for the Cincinnati Bengals and their quarterback Andy Dalton Sunday night as the dime defense made its first appearance of the season in the 24-17 win. I had suggested in one of my game previews that I would not be totally surprised if second-year cornerback Curtis Brown finally saw the first...

Animated Break Down Of A Great Play By Keenan Lewis Against The Bengals

A key defensive play in the Pittsburgh Steelers win Sunday night over the Cincinnati Bengals was the pass deflection by cornerback Keenan Lewis on the deep ball intended for wide receiver A.J. Green in the third quarter. Below are two cuts from the coaches tape of the play in animated gif form that show it from two different angles. While many will try to write this...

Tortoise & Hare: Cincinnati Starts Fast, Pittsburgh Slow & Steady

The power in the AFC North looked like it had finally shifted, as Andy Dalton and the Cincinnati Bengals ran out to a fast start over Ben Roethlisberger and the division rival Pittsburgh Steelers.Pittsburgh missed ample opportunities early, and it came back to haunt them, while Dalton and Cincinnati took advantage of Pittsburgh’s miscues. The first quarter saw both teams scoring...

Big Ben, Steelers Tame Bengals: Five Things We Learned

In this AFC North match-up, the Pittsburgh Steelers traveled to Ohio to face the Cincinnati Bengals. The Steelers worked their way to victory, defeating the Bengals by a score of 24-17. With only a half game between them in the division now for second and third place, we'll take a look at the key components for how we can determine the outcome of the re-match in Pittsburgh in...

Break Down Of The Steelers Two Point Conversion Play Against The Bengals

The Pittsburgh Steelers two point conversion Sunday night against the Cincinnati Bengals was an interesting play and one that likely will never be run against that defensive personnel every again. That being said, it worked as tight end Heath Miller schooled Bengals cornerback Leon Hall on a fade pattern for the conversion. So why was a pass play featuring 32 personnel (three...
