Patriots Owner Robert Kraft made his feelings about wide receiver Wes Welker known Monday, telling ESPN, “I hope he remains a Patriot for life, just like Tom Brady.” Despite those warm and fuzzy feelings, Welker is currently a free agent. With 118 receptions and six touchdowns during the 2012 regular season, Welker made a solid contribution to the Pats’ offense. According to reports, Welker is likely to re-sign with the Patriots along with free agent cornerback Aqib Talib. Talib contributed to the Pats’ defense last season with two interceptions and one touchdown. The Philadelphia Eagles reportedly have their eye on Talib after releasing Nnamdi Asomugha Tuesday. The Washington Redskins and the Indianapolis Colts are also among the teams interested in Talib. Potential deals with Welker and Talib will have a significant impact on the Patriots’ salary-cap situation, as well as subsequent free agency moves. Who do you think is more likely to re-sign with the Patriots, Wes Welker or Aqib...

NFL.com Reports Welker Will Ultimately Stay

The war of words continues when it pertains to Wes Welker and his destiny this offseason. Reports surfaced yesterday from Miami that Welker would not mind “sticking it to the Patriots” if they didn’t give him the kind of deal he wants. Today however, the other side of the coin is flipped, once again, and has NFL.com’s Chris Wesseling saying that Welker will most likely stick...

Wes Welker, Broncos in serious contract talks

Wes Welker may be hooking up with a future Hall of Fame QB after all. The former New England Patriots standout wide receiver is in “serious talks” with the Denver Broncos today, the second day of free agency, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.  The team reportedly wants to “hammer out a deal” with the All-Pro slot receiver. Welker, 31, had 118 catches for 1,354 yards last year...

Immediate Thoughts On The Patriots Ditching Wes Welker For Danny Amendola

Just before I left work today a co-worker interrupted my conversation to tell me that Wes Welker was gone, on his way to Denver.  A minute later, thanks to the wonders of twitter, I saw that it was a two-year deal.  I became puzzled, wasn’t that what the Pats offered Welker last year, a deal he rejected?  I rationalized that Welker surely got two years and $16 million or more...

As expected, Patriots are not going for Nnamdi

I'm as heartbroken as anybody right now. Watching Wes Welker leave for nothing more than an average contract has to make you think that the Patriots have something up their sleeves... RIGHT?? Well according to SI.com, Bill Belichick's master plan will not include free agent CB Nnamdi Asomugha. The teams interested include the 49ers (seriously, where are they getting...

Danny Amendola Reportedly Signed With Patriots on Tuesday, a Day Before Wes Welker Signed With Broncos

So, Danny Amendola wasn’t a reaction to Wes Welker‘s exit, after all. According to Tom E. Curran, the Patriots and the former Rams receiver agreed to the five-year deal on Tuesday — not Wednesday when the signing was leaked. That being said, Curran believes that the Pats had likely already moved on from Welker and went after Amendola when No. 83 went on the market. Check...

Sean Smith signs with the Chiefs, setting market for Aqib Talib?

Dear Patriots, Please at least sign Aqib Talib. Patriots fans really only had three of our own free-agents we cared about re-signing. Can we at least keep one of them? The Patriots were apparently interested in Sean Smith, but not that much I guess. He just signed with the Chiefs today for three years. Sean Smith joins the Chiefs on a three-year deal, according to his agent, David...

NFL Mock Draft (TOP TEN PICKS)

Free Agency is tricky because it can drastically change team’s draft plans. A team that wants to draft a top wide receiver in the first round could sign Mike Wallace or Wes Welker and as a result, their draft plans must change. Speaking of the draft, it’s tough to predict how the draft will turn out because nobody really knows what will happen on draft day thanks to trades and...
