TEAMS: Houston Texans, New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers
The Houston Texans will invade Gillette Stadium on Monday night with a league best 11-1 record and a two-game lead for the No. 1 seed in the AFC. The Texans lone loss came via a blowout against the Green Bay Packers in October. Since then, Houston has ran the table and all but clinched the AFC South.
Houston has a dynamic offense and hard-nosed defense that forces any opponent to prepare for a multitude of talents on each side of the ball. Thus is the task for Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots headed into Monday night’s matchup.
On offense, running back Arian Foster is a touchdown machine. He leads the NFL with 13 scores on the year, making Texans fans and fantasy owners alike smile. And for the third straight year, he’s surpassed the 1,000-yard mark. Entering Monday’s game against New England’s ninth-best rush defense, Foster has already ran for 1,102 yards.
Speaking of offensive firepower, Andre Johnson‘s return from injury has him leading the charge in the Houston passi...

Houston Texans rock high school letterman jackets
Houston Texans nose tackle Shaun Cody had an idea. He thought it would be pretty cool for the team to rock letterman jackets like high school varsity football players do.
So he recuited OLB Conner Barwin , and he worked with the equipment manager to make it happen.
"I used to say before the season it feels like we're on a college team," Barwin said, via the Houston...
Houston Texans get letterman jackets (Photo)
The entire Houston Texans team received varsity-style letterman jackets Friday, just in time for their trip to New England for Monday night's game against the Patriots.
We had our doubts as to why an NFL team would want such jackets, until we saw the photo of linebacker Conor Barwin and defensive end Antonio Smith wearing them. We must say: they do look awesome.

Despite record, Texans can't measure up to Pats
The best record in the AFC will mean little to the Houston Texans if they can't beat the defending conference champions.
The Texans lost for just the second time this season on Monday night when the New England Patriots coasted to a 42-14 win in a matchup of the two top teams in the AFC. Tom Brady threw for four touchdowns as the Patriots (10-3) opened a 28-0 lead and ended...
If You’re Not Watching the Texans, You Should Be…
Article written by: Blair from www.allsportsnoballs.com
Well… at least if you’re a real football fan. But, honestly? You don’t even need to be a die-hard grid iron lover to appreciate what’s happening with the Houston Texans team right now. As you can probably tell, this isn’t the typical write-up you’d normally find on DoubleGSports.com, but I guess they’ll tell...
Texans Use Letterman Jackets to Show Team Unity, High School Spirit
As a high school athlete, the mark of knowing you finally made it or achieved something was when you received your varsity letter during athletic banquets, and placed it on a Letterman jacket. The aura you gave off while walking around school or neighborhoods with your Letterman jacket was an awesome feeling.
The Houston Texans are having the greatest season in franchise history...
J.J. Watt Shows Off Freakish Athletic Ability in College With 55-Inch Box Jump (Video)
Before J.J. Watt was the scourge of opposing quarterbacks, he was just any other college kid … with a 55-inch vertical leap.
The Texans’ defensive end showed up some of the jumping skills that would cause so much problem for NFL offenses in a video taken before he was picked in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft. The eventual No. 11 pick showed off his outrageous ups by leaping...
Shaun Cody’s Time With The Texans Coming To An End?
Pro Football Weekly reports NT Shaun Cody is “unlikely to be with the Texans in 2013.”
PFW notes that Earl Mitchell has played well enough with Cody out of the lineup that he could afford Houston the ability to move on without the veteran nose tackle.
Cody, 29, will be a free agent at the end of the season, but it seems likely that the Texans will consider drafting a replacement...
Oh, Texans
And with that, there’s no hope of an NFL prime time being watchable for the rest of the regular season. Sorry, folks. We’ll still live blog ‘em, but they ain’t gonna be fun.
Speaking of prime time, both of Houston’s losses have come in the national spotlight against top-tier quarterbacks. Does that mean that the Texans are guilty of clownfraudishness? I’m sure the talking...
Pats offensive balance a challenge for Texans
Stevan Ridley has emerged as a top running back in his second pro season. He's not the only Patriots rusher Texans coach Gary Kubiak has to worry about.
The revived New England ground game, with Shane Vereen and Brandon Bolden as backups, has brought balance to an offense that relied more heavily on quarterback Tom Brady in recent years.
Ridley, in his second pro season, is...
The Boston Patriots’ First Big Moment: A 1961 Battle With Houston
The Boston Patriots were a franchise looking for a break-out moment when Houston visited on October 13, 1961.
The Houston Texans might be the #1 seed when they come to Foxboro on Monday Night to play the New England Patriots, while the Pats are the ones fighting to avoid the first round. But Houston is also the team playing with something to prove, as they try and show their championship...
VIDEO: Beware the Swatt
The Patriots Week 14 matchup against the Texans has the look of a game Tom Brady could take over. But if someone doesn’t keep J.J. Watt’s hands down, Brady’s passes won’t make it past the O-line.

Patriots Embarass Texans 42-14
Tom Brady's four touchdown passes showed that the Houston Texans' record doesn't speak so loudly. The AFC first place Texans came into the game 11-1, losing their only game to the Green Bay Packers. Getting You Ready For Pats-Texans
Isn’t it when the big games are actually on in prime time? That hasn’t always been the case this year on Thursday/Sunday/Monday nights. Nobody wants to watch Browns-Raiders every week, but it seems like that’s been more common than Steelers-Ravens or something.
We don’t have to worry about that tonight, though. Tonight, with Pats-Texans, we get to have our cake and eat...
Aqib Talib Must Improve on Slow Start to Patriots Career for New England to Stop Andre Johnson on Monday Night
The Patriots’ pass defense has improved since Aqib Talib came to Foxboro, but surprisingly, he’s been the weak link in the New England secondary.
It will be key for Talib to play the best game of his brief Patriots career while he’s matched up against the Texans’ star wide receiver, Andre Johnson. After an off year plagued by injuries in 2011, Johnson has come roaring back...
