NFL rosters have been cut down to 53 players. As the Detroit Lions attempt to put a forgettable 2008 behind them with their first win since 2007, the waiver wire is a place the Lions need to look carefully at. Until noon Sunday the Lions can have any player on the waiver wire by virtue of their 0-16 record last year. There are several area's on the team which still need to be improved, despite the best efforts of coach Schwartz and GM Martin Meyhew. The Defensive line and the secondary are the two which look the weakest to me. There have been several players waived who may be fits in Detroit, and the Lions would be wise to look into these players. I am focusing on four defensive and two offensive players. I did not include former Giants WR David Tyree because I don't think the Lions will go after a WR on the wire. Terrance Taylor - DT, Taylor was a 4th round draft pick that wasn't able to crack the roster in Indianapolis. Taylor would provide a big body (6'-0"...
