Green Bay Packers outside linebacker Erik Walden was arrested early Friday on suspicion of assaulting his live-in girlfriend, a newspaper reported Friday on its website.Walden likely will remain in jail on suspicion of felony domestic violence-substantial battery until at least Monday because the Brown County Court was closed Friday for the holiday, according to greenbaypressgazette..com. Hobart-Lawrence police chief Randy Bani told the Press-Gazette that the alleged assault took place at about 2:30 a.m. CT at an apartment complex in Lawrence, Wis. a Green Bay suburb and that a woman later called the police at about 6:30 a.m.Walden, 26, was booked into the Brown County Jail about 8 a.m.Walden's girlfriend required medical treatment after the incident, according to the report."The officer felt that there was enough information that was given by the victim that the male was arrested," Bani told the newspaper.Walden was signed as a free agent by the Packers last season. Late in the season he assumed a starting job, which he held throughout the team's run to a Super Bowl title and through the first 11 games of the 2011 season. He had a season-high eight tackles in Green Bay's 27-15 road victory against the Detroit Lions on Thursday.Walden has played in 48 NFL games in four NFL seasons for the Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins and Packers. He has three sacks in 2011.
