Found October 30, 2012 on SteelerAddicts:
It may seem like a decade ago, but it really was just this past summer and entire preseason where Pittsburgh Steelers’ wideout Mike Wallace sat out in a contract dispute with the team. Wallace certainly didn’t do himself any favors with the fan base, but I think in general, many fans understood what Wallace was doing as other players in the league went down with injuries in the preseason. Entering Sunday’s game against Washington, Wallace was coming off a four-drop performance against Cincinnati  and desperately needed to re-focus his attention on simply catching the football. That’s exactly what Wallace did in collecting seven receptions for 62 yards. He was targeted nine times on the day by Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Perhaps the bigger number for the fans was ‘zero drops,’ but from his post-game comments, the number Wallace was concerned about may have also been ‘zero.’ As in ‘zero’ touchdown receptions. Yesterday on my weekly appearance on Trib-Live Radio with Daniel Dudley ...

Steelers defense, Roethlisberger strong at home again

I missed all of the first half and most of the second half of this one preparing for Frankstorm, but the Steelers defense put down another dominant performance at Heinz Field, where they've only lost once since the start of the 2011 season. The Steelers suffocated Robert Griffin III in a 27-12 win. RGIII was being called the "best player in football" by some heading...

Roethlisberger reaping benefits of the “dink and dunk” Steelers offense

It’s funny how controversial this term, “dink and dunk” can be when it comes to football these days. It’s not that there is anything wrong with it, at least I don’t think so because the ultimate goal in professional sports is to win no matter what. If it’s short passing; fine, if it’s going deep … Continue reading »

Ben Roethlisberger Hits Ref in the Head With Pass (Video)

Big Ben Roethlisberger just plunking the referee in the head with a pass like it ain't no thing.  Don't make a bad call against the Steelers or you know what you're up against.  I just can't wait until he tries to pull that on Ed Hochuli and Ed tosses him in the torture rack until he taps out.   Video of the pass below if you missed it. P.S. Am I the...

Dink & Dunk Steelers Offense? Why Not Call It The Upright Offense Instead?

Many like to call the new offense of the Pittsburgh Steelers a "dink and dunk" one, but perhaps a better name for it would be an "upright" offense. Upright because that is exactly what quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been for a good part of this season. Through the first 7 games of the season Roethlisberger has been sacked only 13 times. He is on pace to be...

Steelers Winners And Losers – Week 8 – Redskins

The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Washington Redskins 27-12 Sunday at Heinz Field and are now 4-3 on the season. Below are the players, or group of players, that I thought had winning performances in the game and 3 more players that deserve a little slap on the wrist. Ben Roethlisberger - Roethlisberger was surgical-like from the very beginning of the game on his way to a 24-of-33...

Offensive line, scheme keeps Roethlisberger clean

(Eds: APNewsNow. Will be updated. With AP Photos.) By WILL GRAVES AP Sports Writer The Pittsburgh Steelers made a commitment to protecting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in the offseason, drafting a pair of offensive linemen and hiring offensive coordinator Todd Haley to design a scheme that keeps Roethlisberger upright. It's working. Roethlisberger has been sacked just 13...

Ben Roethlisberger nails referee in head with throw (Video)

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger hit an NFL referee in the head with an errant pass during the final minute of the second quarter of Sunday's NFL game against the Washington Redskins. Popout Announcers joked that the rugby-style striped throwback uniforms that the Steelers were wearing Sunday may have confused Roethlisberger into thinking he was throwing...

RG3 No Match For BR7 As Steelers Beat Redskins 27-12 – Game Recap

There was some great quarterback play Sunday and it didn't come from the well talked about, and highly hyped, Washington Redskins rookie Robert Griffin III as Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was head and shoulders better than the one that they call RG3 at Heinz Field. Roethlisberger was 24-of-33 for 222 yards with three touchdowns on Sunday as the Steelers...

Time For Big Ben Roethlisberger to Get Abused Week 9

TweetHere is a message from the New York Giants to Big Ben Roethlisberger. It's time for Big Ben to be the one who gets ABUSED! He isn't playing defenseless girls and they won't be playing Sunday's game at a nightclub! He will be seeing a heavy doze of Osi Umenyiora, Justin Tuck and Jason Pierre-Paul (JPP).

Big Ben Guns Down Redskins

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw for 222 yards and three touchdowns with zero picks in Sunday's game against the Redskins.Fantasy Spin:Roethlisberger tossed short touchdowns to Leonard Pope, Heath Miller and Will Johnson, which should frustrate owners of Mike Wallace (7-62) and Antonio Brown (4-38).

Steelers-Giants Preview

Eli Manning and Ben Roethlisberger will be forever linked as multiple Super Bowl winners after being selected in the 2004 draft. The star quarterbacks have split their first two matchups heading into Sunday, when the Pittsburgh Steelers visit a New York Giants team looking to win its fifth straight. These traditional franchises have each won two Super Bowls since New York (6-2...

Steelers 27, Redskins 12

PITTSBURGH -- Robert Griffin III might be the freshly anointed one, but Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers showed the Washington Redskins rookie quarterback what an elite performance looks like. Roethlisberger was an efficient 24 of 33 for 222 yards and three touchdowns, Jonathan Dwyer carried 17 times for 107 yards, and Pittsburgh's defense stymied Griffin to win...

Breaking Down The Fake Bubble Screen Play Against The Redskins

I have always gotten a kick out of how much abuse an offensive coordinator gets for calling a bubble screen. Whenever anyone would comment negatively on Bruce Arians during his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers, you can bet that bubble screens were almost always listed as one of their dislikes, despite the overall success the play had, and how it was used to set up other passing...
