It seems Derrick Ward's time with the Houston Texans is over, a fact he virtually confirmed on Twitter Monday. "Was just told I didnt get resigned because I don't play special teams? Humm check 2004-2007 stats special teams demon. Oh well. #Next Up," Ward wrote on his Twitter account. Ward, a running back, seemed expendable when the Texans signed Justin Forsett recently. Apparently Ward was led to believe the fact that he didn't play special teams was the reason he wasn't re-signed. His mention of 2004-2007 refers to the fact that he returned kicks for the Giants for parts of five seasons and led the NFL in kick returns in 2004. But Ward, 32, averaged just 3.4 yards on 45 carries in 2011.
