At the beginning of this week, I looked at the salaries of the Redskins offensive players and went in-depth to look at some potential candidates for release.  This takes a similar look at the defensive side of the ball.Defensive Front Seven (unrestricted free agency year): NT Barry Cofield (2017), DT Stephen Bowen (2016), DT Jarvis Jenkins (2015), NT Chris Neild (2015), LB Ryan Kerrigan (2016), LB Markus White (2015), LB Brian Orakpo (2014), LB Perry Riley (2014) LB Lorenzo Alexander (2013), LB Rob Jackson (2013)This is a remarkably efficient group of contracts, making the defensive front seven the strength of the Washington Redskins organization in more ways than one.  Now, quite obviously, this group is missing it's leader in the middle of the defense: that's free agent stalwart London Fletcher.  And the Redskins have to find a way to get consistently stronger and deeper in the front three.  So this is not an area of the team that is without it's needs.  But it's a...

Philadelphia Eagles: LaRon Landry and Vontaze Burfict Are What the Defense Needs

Source: blog.redskins.com The Philadelphia Eagles defense lacks several things, an experienced coordinator and linebacker talent among them, but perhaps the biggest thing missing is a fierce attitude. To say their defense lacks a killer instinct and nasty demeanor is like saying Andy Reid is only a couple pounds overweight. If you’re like me, you embrace good defensive football...

Friday Redskins Practice Bubble Update

Good morning Redskins Nation, and a very careful Friday the 13th to all.  My informed superstitious advice is to steer clear of black cats today and wear your luckiest Redskins gear today in order to ward off evil spirits. And if anyone dares to utter “Dallas Cowboys” on this unluckiest of days, sing “Hail to the Redskins” to protect yourself. In other news...

No Jump in Redskins GA Ticket Prices

The bad news: The Washington Redskins have had just two winning seasons since 1999. The good news: the team has increased general admission ticket prices just three times during that span. The Redskins announced on Friday that they will not raise general admission ticket prices in 2012 after finishing out of the playoffs for the fourth straight season. The team said they will...

Peyton Speculation Turns to Redskins

Here was an interesting tweet this morning that came from ESPN anchor and former Redskins beat reporter Bram Weinstein: One of the people who's opinion at ESPN I trust the most says Peyton (Manning) + (Colts center Jeff) Saturday to Redskins is VERY likely.. So, I have to warm up to it I'm not quite sure there's ANYONE at ESPN who has a trustworthy opinion on any subject...
