Sammy Baugh, of the Redskins (1937 to 1952), died Wednesday at his West Texas Ranch. He was best known for he then uncommon use of the forward pass, an ability which earned him in a place in the Inaugural NFL Hall of Fame Class. When Baugh entered the NFL, the forward pass was unheard of in normal play, it was unveiled mostly in desperate situations.
