Most Loved:

1. Robert ‘RG3’ Griffin III, QB, Baylor – He has a cool name.  He’s got the charisma.  He’s got the skills.  He is the anointed savior of DC football.

Let’s face it, Redskins fans have been waiting for this guy since men like Mark Rypien, Joe Thiesmann, and Doug Williams played under center.  RG3 is going to have a long leash with Washington fans.

He’s going to have to do a lot of bad to turn any fans against him.  People that hate the Redskins love RG3.  He’s awesome.  I love RG3.  I wish he quarterbacked my team.

If he didn’t have training camp, he could have won a gold medal in sprinting at the Olympics.  How cool would that have been?  I still don’t know why he doesn’t wear the number 3…that’d be even more epic.

Moving up to draft RG3 was the best personnel move Daniel Snyder has ever made…ever.  Just think about some of his other personnel moves, not even the recent ones, although names like Haynesworth, McNabb, and Shanahan stick out…oh, he’s still the coach, and I’ll get to that later.

In fact, the only thing working against him is a coach that hasn’t coached well these last few seasons.  I’m not going to compare RG3 to Elway, but maybe all Mike Shanahan needs to finally win something is an awesome quarterback.

2. Chris ‘Captain Chaos’ Cooley, TE, Utah State – He’s fun.  That’s his biggest attribute.  He’s entering his 9th season as the Skins number one tight end.  He holds the franchise’s all-time reception record for his position.  He does blogs.  He calls himself ‘Captain Chaos’ at the coin toss because someone double dog dared him.  He married a cheerleader.

He’s had a rough couple of seasons plagued by injuries.  But now he has a dope young quarterback to toss him the ball and a full offseason/training camp to get adjusted and healed.  This could be the year for the beloved Cooley Redskins fans couldn’t be more excited.

3. Brian Orakpo, LB, Texas – He doesn’t need a nickname.  Brian Orakpo will probably go down as the greatest defensive player in Redskins history.  He already has the Skins record for sacks in a game at four…in his rookie season.  He’s made the Pro Bowl or been an alternate in each of his three seasons.  He is a monster, and his workout regimen is legendary.

It also doesn’t hurt that he is funny.  This guy is a riot.  Have you seen his Geico commercials with the caveman?  Needless to say, Washington fans have been ‘Orakpoed.’

Most Hated:

1. DeAngelo Hall, CB, Virginia Tech – DeAngelo Hall is an elite cornerback.  I don’t want him guarding my team’s receivers.  This countdown is about on field skill set.  This is because he’s not nice.  Hall has even earned the nickname, ‘MeAngelo.’  He’s widely known as being a selfish player.

It doesn’t help his cause that he’s outspoken and arrogant.  Although, some of his antics can be entertaining, they take away from the team.  He’s like the Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson of defense.  It’s doubly compounded that he plays next to a team guy like Orakpo.  He’s a great talent with a great talent for causing trouble.

2. Mike Shanahan, Head Coach – I know he isn’t a player, but who really likes this guy?  He rode his two Super Bowl titles on John Elway’s arm and Terrell Davis’ legs…13 years ago.  He’s been coasting off of that ever since.

He took a respected veteran quarterback in Donovan McNabb and basically humiliated him.  He wouldn’t work with a $100 million DE in Haynesworth.  I’m not a Haynesworth fan, but when you give a guy a contract like that you have to try and make it work.

He is brash, apparently inept, and hedging everything in a kid named RG3.  In my personal opinion, the Redskins would be better off if they were coached by a 12 year old Madden player, and I feel like more fans agree with me than disagree.

3. Rex Grossman, QB, Florida – This is a love to hate player.  Why do people hate Grossman so much?  He has a cool first name...a sketchy last name, but his initials are technically RG3, look it up.

Grossman wasn’t the reason the Bears got to Super Bowl XLVI, but he was there.  He’s had some brilliant games, and some bad ones…mostly bad ones.  He’s not mean, or selfish.  He just isn’t great.  When people see Grossman near a football field their first instinct is to boo.

I feel so bad for this guy.  That being said, I don’t want him on my team.  I don’t hate Rex…a lot of people do, especially in the state of Illinois.  Sorry Rex, at least you won at something.
