It was hard not to follow the Detroit Lions season this year. Everyone was watching. Why? Because we saw the emergence of a 0-16 team on their way to the playoffs (They lost but that’s not the point.)
No matter what you think, Detroit did something right this past season. It started with their quarterback and ended with their receivers.
Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson may be one of the best duos in the NFL right now. The Redskins don’t have that because we haven’t found a quarterback worth the investment. We haven’t had one long enough to get that duo either. Rex Grossman and John Beck didn’t look for a wing man. Don’t count Santana Moss. He’s a great receiver, but has never served the role as a wingman. He’s just a great target, even though Jabar Gaffney took that title with 68 catches for 947 yards this season.
