Redskins Post:
Shortly after the Cleveland Browns released veteran DT Shaun Rogers, the Washington Redskins brought him in for a look, and now the Redskins are doing the same with another defensive veteran who has been released by his former team, S O.J. Atogwe.
Atogwe is still a very valuable contributor on the field, last season he recorded 73 tackles and three interceptions. For his career he has logged 393 tackles, 16 forced fumbles and 22 interceptions. Atogwe has played 6 seasons in the NFL.
The Redskins are free to sign Atogwe or Rogers as free agents up until the March 3rd deadline.
The Washington Redskins are exploring all options on defense after coming off a horrible 2010 defensive campaign. The Redskins were nearly dead last against the run and ranked 26th against the pass at the conclusion of last year.
Atogwe is believed to be best suited to play free safety but he has recorded time at the strong safety position.
