For all the talk about the quarterback matchup between Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III in this week’s preseason showdown between the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Redskins, the more compelling matchup will be the Redskins’ running game against the Colts new defensive scheme. In the Redskins, the Colts will see a rushing attack from head coach Mike Shanahan that produced Super Bowl championships in Denver and took Terrell Davis from a late round afterthought to a potential Hall of Famer. True, Shanahan’s ‘Skins have yet to approach the efficiency running the football that he had in Denver, but that’s mainly a talent gap. The scheme itself, with zone blocking and threats both between the tackles and on the perimeter, will test the Colts’ knowledge of their responsibilities. Unlike with the Rams, the Colts will likely see close to three quarters of the Redskins’ first team offense, not just a couple of series. Stephen Jackson averaged over four yards a carry in his limited actio...

Luck vs RGIII adds 'buzz' to Colts-Redskins game

Even in the era of inflated ticket prices, it's a bit of a stretch to say there's $35 worth of entertainment value in a typical NFL preseason game. Although it was just a preseason game, when number one versus number two face off, it always seems to grab everyone’s attention. Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III faced off against each other and did not disappoint the fans at FedEx field as Griffin and the Washington Redskins got the best of Luck and the Indianapolis Colts 30-17 on Saturday night. Both young quarterback looked...

For the Redskins, is it 1937 all over again?

After five mostly lackluster seasons in the city of Boston, frustrated pro football club owner George Preston Marshall decided to move his fledgling team, the Redskins, to Washington D.C. Armed with determination and a multi-talented, over-achieving, first round, draft-pick quarterback, Marshall’s team opened their 1937 regular season with high hopes, and a surprising win at [...]

Peter King: I’d Take Andrew Luck Over Any QB Except Aaron Rodgers

In Indianapolis, and the general NFL community, expectations for Andrew Luck are extremely high. They were high as soon as he chose to enter the NFL Draft, with scouts calling him the best prospect since John Elway.  With Luck replacing the possible greatest of all time in Indianapolis, and playing extremely well in both of his first two games, the expectations and projections for...

I think its as far as your mind can take you, a lot like Former Colt, Peyton Manning‘s mind has made him look like a genius on the field, Andrew’s mind...

Fantasy Football 2012 Sleepers: Quarterbacks

Successful fantasy football players are usually those who generally got the best value out of their draft picks. That is what makes sleepers so key, especially at what has become the most important position in the game.

7 Questions about the Redskins preseason game

In 1998 the debate about the best quarterback available in the draft centered around the word "upside." While most appreciated Peyton Manning's football acumen, pedigree and polish most agreed that Ryan Leaf had a better arm as well as the potential to grow more. The pundits felt Manning was too ready. In hindsight they look like the buffoons in Major League proclaiming...
