Washington Redskins no.1 wide receiver Pierre Garcon, who sparkled in his debut with the team last Sunday against New Orleans is unlikely to play today in the Redskins week two battle with the St. Louis Rams according to a report issued by ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter.
Garcon is suffering from a right foot injury and wants to test it today before the game to see if there is any chance that he can go but at this point it appears that the Redskins and fantasy football owners will be unable to have the speedy wide receiver in the lineup.
Last week Garcon caught 4 passes for 109 yards and scored on an 88-yard touchdown pass from rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III. There is still a slight chance he will be able to play as head coach Mike Shanahan was quoted in the report as saying, “(If Garcon) can go live with the pain, and he feels like he can go full speed, then you let him go.”
