USA TODAY Sports

OCT 8 WITHERSPOON PICK The Los Angeles Rams are locked in a tight matchup with the Philadephia Eagles at Lincoln Finacial Field on Sunday.

And cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon made one of the biggest plays of the game in the third quarter.

With the Rams trailing 17-14 midway through the third quarter and the Eagles driving in for another score, Witherspoon intercepted QB Jalen Hurts in the end zone, stopping the drive in its tracks.

The Rams were unable to convert the turnover into points, however, punting the ball back to the Eagles after a quick five-play drive.

SEPT 30 MILLER TIME? Former Los Angeles Rams pass rusher Von Miller is "expected to resume practicing this week" for the Buffalo Bills, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Miller, of course, was a key part of the Rams' defense that helped to cement a Super Bowl LVI victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

AUGUST 28 The Los Angeles Rams waived rookie defensive back Tanner Ingle Monday, according to KRPC's Aaron Wilson.

Ingle shined in the Rams' preseason opener against the Los Angeles Chargers, recording two tackles — both for loss — with a sack. He recorded a tackle against the Las Vegas Raiders but did not appear in the stat sheet in Los Angeles' preseason finale Saturday.

The Rams will likely carry nine defensive backs in their secondary, which will mean they'll have to cut half of the remainder they have in the room.

AUGUST 28 The Los Angeles Rams waived defensive tackle Taron Vincent Monday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Vincent, the son of former NFL cornerback and current Executive Vice President of Football Operations Troy Vincent, was an undrafted free agent signing by the Rams on May 15. The Baltimore native recorded four tackles in three preseason games.

Vincent is the first player to be released since Los Angeles wrapped up its preseason finale against the Denver Broncos on Saturday, losing 41-0. Vincent had two tackles.

In five seasons for the Ohio State Buckeyes, Vincent recorded 59 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, and his only career fumble recovery against the Iowa Hawkeyes Oct. 22, 2022.

The three other defensive tackles remaining on the Rams roster are All-Pro Aaron Donald, Marquise Copeland and Larrell Murchison. Donald didn't play in any preseason games as not to risk injury, but Copeland and Murchison combined for eight tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack.

The Rams still have many more decisions to make ahead of Tuesday's 1 p.m. CT deadline in which they will have to have their 53-man active roster finalized. Los Angeles will also have 16 practice squad players on the roster.
