After calling DeAngelo Hall out last week for pulling a Haynesworth against the Jets, I feel obligated to post what he did yesterday against the Patriots: As you can plainly see, Hall just stood there as Reed Doughty and DeJon Gomes struggled to bring Rob Gronkowski to the ground. Of course they failed, and Gronkowski made every highlight reel by rumbling another 30 yards before a suddenly-invigorated Hall chased him down. At this rate, pulling a DeAngelo will become the new pulling a Haynesworth, though I’d rather reserve that phrase for the act of drawing a penalty flag for throwing the penalty flag which you also drew, which Hall also did yesterday. What a game.

DeAngelo Hall watches two teammates not tackle Rob Gronkowski

Watching the game live, umpteen Redskins fans threw up their hands in disgust when both Redskins safeties failed to tackle Rob Gronkowski as DeAngelo Hall watched, leading to a 49-yard gain and, on the next play, a touchdown. John Keim, the normally mild-mannered Examiner beat writer, really let Hall have it for that play in his always excellent 10 Observations column: Read full article >>

Brady upset with game on Patriots' record-setting day

LANDOVER, Md. -- Tom Brady's first interception in more than a month led to a screaming match on the sideline. That's how perfection-driven the New England Patriots are.

Underwood sees late playing time

By Tim BrittonSeeing Tom Brady throw a critical interception in the end zone was surprising on Sunday; seeing Tiquan Underwood as the second receiver on the play may have been just as unexpected. With Deion Branch struggling with a groin injury, Underwood got the nod over Chad Ochocinco and Julian Edelman in the goal-to-go situation. It's hard to blame Underwood for what ensued...

In The Red Zone - 12/13

The New England Patriots are in the midst of their second two game road trip of the season with back-to-back road games against Washington and Denver. Their earlier trip back-to-backers in Buffalo and Oakland yielded a win in the Black Hole and a loss in southern Canada. Now in addition to playing a football game in Denver they have to face the aspect of Tebow-mania. Head coach...

Brady, Patriots Outlast Redskins

During Tom Brady's 12-year NFL career, he's gone from fresh-faced, high-energy upstart to cool-as-a-cucumber, savvy Super Bowl MVP. On Sunday against the Redskins, Brady was as about as animated as we've ever seen him on a football field when he got into a sideline shouting match with quarterbacks coach Bill O'Brien. After the game (oh, right, the score: the...

He is also the first Redskins rookie running back in franchise history to pull off this feat. Running for this many...

Swing And A Miss

I thought I had Shank's next column pegged with the previous post. I was thinking Shank would zig when instead he zagged and instead climbed aboard the Rob Gronkowski bandwagon:LANDOVER, Md. - Twenty-two-year-old tight end Rob Gronkowski has emerged as everybody’s favorite Patriot. Sure, that guy Brady’s OK, but Gronk is the man-child who catches everything, sheds tacklers...

Tom Brady vs. Tim Tebow: A tale of the tape for Patriots vs. Broncos

Getty ImagesTom Brady and Tim Tebow. If it weren’t for Aaron Rodgers, we might be talking about Sunday’s Broncos vs. Patriots matchup as a battle of NFL MVP contenders. (Well, assuming voters would logically choose the player who was most valuable to their team, as opposed to the best player overall, but we digress). Still, with Tim Tebow lining up opposite Tom Brady...

Patriots deal with sideline spat, defensive woes

The sideline spat between Tom Brady and his offensive coordinator seems to have been patched up. The New England Patriots defense will take longer to fix.
