Watch: Former All-Pro WR Brandon Marshall pays up on painful Jets-Patriots bet with Julian Edelman

The New York Jets' brutal 10-3 loss in Week 11 to the New England Patriots was especially painful for former Jets Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Marshall.

Tied at three in the final minute of the fourth quarter on Sunday, the AFC East contest seemed destined for overtime. Marcus Jones took a Jets' punt 84 yards to the house to leave New York with just five seconds remaining on the clock and essentially ice the victory.

The Week 11 thriller was the second time in three games that the Jets fell to their rivals by single digits. The Patriots defeated "Gang Green" 22-17 in Week 8 and finished off the season sweep on Sunday.

With the most recent win, New England has further muddied up the division. The Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins enter Week 12 tied atop the AFC East at 7-3, while the Patriots and Jets are both 6-4, with the former holding a tiebreaker due to their head-to-head record.

According to CBSBoston.com, Julian Edelman was thrilled not to have lost the bet to Marshall.

"I'm just thankful, I'm thankful, and New England Patriots Nation is thankful, my mother is thankful, that Marcus Jones went out there and had a house call to shut down the game so I don't have to get a tattoo. No tattoo here, Brandon. No tattoo here," Edelman said. "Easiest bet of my life."
