In the process of wrapping up their preseason slate on Saturday night against the Denver Broncos, the Los Angeles Rams made NFL headlines.
Unfortunately, it was for the wrong reasons.
During a first-half possession for the Broncos offense, rookie wideout Marvin Mims got. the ball on an end around, where he was met by Rams rookie, Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson.
Hodges-Tomlin then proceeded to make the headline play, ripping down Mims by his face mask in brutal fashion.

The Rams selected Hodges-Tomlinson out of TCU with the No.182 overall pick in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL draft.
Having had a decorated career at TCU, Hodges-Tomlinson entered the NFL with an impressive resume, including taking home the coveted Jim Thorpe Award for being the top defensive back in the country last season.
Hodges-Tomlinson also played a vital role in helping TCU reach the 2023 College Football Playoff National Championship, where the team was embarrassed in a 65-7 loss to Georgia.
In his final season with the Horned Frogs in 2022, he led the nation with 21 forced incompletions and allowed a 42.5 passer rating on 547 coverage snaps. He was targeted 81 times and only allowed 28 catches for 365 yards and two touchdowns.
And barring a potential suspension from the NFL for the violent takedown on Saturday, the Rams will hope that he can re-create even a fraction of that type of production in his rookie season.
