Mike McGlynn felt good about his block on J.J. Watt. The Bengals’ right guard punched out on Watt, the Houston Texans’ top draft choice this season, and stopped his path to quarterback Andy Dalton. The next thing McGlynn and everyone else inside Reliant Stadium knew Watt picked off Dalton’s pass and returned it 29 yards for a touchdown that broke a 10-10 tie and sent the Texans on their way to a 31-10 victory in the AFC wild card game. “I stopped him but then I saw him jump, catch the ball late and by the time I went to tackle him it was too late,” said McGlynn. “It was a great play by him.” Watt began his college career as a tight end at Central Michigan before transferring to Wisconsin where he became an All-American defensive lineman.
