Wayne Hunter officially declared starting RT This New York Jets offseason, many people declared right tackle as a major need for the team. The Jets didn’t make any significant moves to address last year’s porous situation with Wayne Hunter and history looked doomed to repeat itself. Well guess what Jets fans, history is doomed to repeat itself. Below is a quote from Wayne Hunter himself on the starting right tackle position. ”I am the starting right tackle, that’s it,” Hunter said. ”Not up for debate. Whatever happens come opening day, I am the starting right tackle. They told me that, so it’s clear to me. It’s as simple as that.” ‘When it comes to the media and fans, I feel I have lived up to (handling) it. I had good games last year, had some great games. I also had some bad games. I didn’t pick up where Woody left off. I was the weakest link last year at times, played like a rookie last year, and this year I’m going to play like a nine-year veteran.” ”I know I can play this

Should the Bears sign Plaxico Burress?

The Chicago Bears have made some tremendous upgrades at the WR position this offseason with the additions of Brandon Marshall and rookie Alshon Jefferey.  When combined with returning receivers Earl Bennett, Johnny Knox and Devin Hester the Bears have a formidable receiving corps that should allow them to keep pace in the pass happy NFC North.   But

Awesome Aaron Maybin 2011 Season Highlight Reel (HD)

Aaron Maybin certainly was a pleasant surprise for the Jets in the 2011 season and he’s back with the team for the 2012 season. Maybin has his limitations as a defensive end and pass rusher, but he also has incredible speed and quickness that make him a fun player to watch. Speaking of watching Aaron Maybin, here is an AWESOME 2011 Season Highlight Reel of Maybin put together by...

Tim Tebow to be subject of E! special

According to a spokesperson from the E!, the network will air a half-hour special devotedly solely to the New York Jets quarterback sometime in July.

Jets QB coach: Sanchez had ‘poor decision-making’

There's no question that Mark Sanchez, entering what amounts to a make-or-break fourth season, has the weight on the world on his shoulders. Now, thanks to an unlikely source, it's gotten that much heavier. Pontificating on the past, Jets quarterbacks coach Matt Cavanaugh told the New York Daily News that Sanchez displayed "poor decision-making" last season...

Even Mark Sanchez’s QB coach thinks he stinks

We like to pick on New York Jets QB Mark Sanchez, and it is because we don’t think of him as a very good quarterback, showing flashes of nothing. Ya see, Sanchez’s early success was predicated on one of the best running games in football and one of the best defenses, as well. Actually, I [...]

Tim Tebow says he’s improved as a passer

New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow claims that he’s improved as a passer this offseason, which may not be a good thing for current starter Mark Sanchez. “I’ve been working pretty hard at doing that,” said Tebow, per ESPN.com. “I feel like I had a good offseason before I got here, and being here and working with Coach Sparano and working with Mark [Sanchez] and working...

Tim Tebow will be on a special for E! this summer

"I don't know why I'm famous!" In what appears to be a never ending quest for the public to learn everything there is about Tebow that has nothing to do with football, E! has announced that they will be airing a 30-minute special with him as the main focus. Unfortunately they won't be asking him questions about why he can't throw a spiral but focus...

Hill wastes no time signing rookie deal

The Jets and rookie wideout Stephen Hill have agreed to terms on a four-year contract.

New York Jets Turn Down HBO's 'Hard Knocks'

The New York Jets say thanks but no thanks to HBO’s desire to have their “Hard Knocks” broadcast on TV. The show which takes fans inside the huddle of an NFL team’s training camp sounds like a very interesting idea…to football fans. But clearly the executives at HBO wanted to grab more than just the avid sports follower, as after the Jets traded for polarizing quarterback...

Would you buy your son (or daughter) this Tim Tebow cape?

Just curious. Because I'm not a parent yet, and so I don't know what the protocol is for this one. But look at that cape and tell me how you'd feel about your kid gracing it on one of the 364 days that exist outside of Oct. 31. I mean, that would be a pretty weak Halloween costume, too, but at least you can freely dress however you want on that day. But at what point...

Lonely Island

Darrelle Revis is arguably the best cornerback in the NFL and has been an integral part of the Jets success the past few seasons. Questions are mounting regarding Revis' current deal and long-term future outlook with Gang Green.

Can the Jets have two Leaders at the same position? Sanchez and Tebow?

Darrelle Revis was asked about whether you can have two leaders at one position, or more specifically two leaders at the QB position, on one team, and he replied with an honestly noncommittal answer. His answer made me truly wonder if it was possible to have two QB’s of the team be viewed as by their teammates as leaders. “That’s a tough question,” Revis said. “I don’t...

Santonio Holmes and Wayne Hunter have a clean slate

New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes and right tackle Wayne Hunter didn't have great seasons in 2011. It all blew up during the season finale against the Miami Dolphins, with Hunter and Holmes jawing at each other in the huddle. Holmes and Hunter have since moved on and have given each other a clean slate to work with. Plenty of New York Jets players could benefit from...
