With Panthers backup QB Josh McCown knocked out for the season in yesterday's game, the Eagles weren't the only team left looking at their options. While the Birds could be pressed to add a free agent signal caller as an emergency for next week, it appears that man will not be A.J. Feeley, who has opted to sign with Carolina via ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The move makes far more sense for Feeley, who would simply be cast aside again after Week 2's match with the Saints. In Carolina, he immediately becomes second in line, and with Jake Delhomme doing his best gunslinger impression of late, there's even a chance he'll become the starter.
Meanwhile, the plot thickens for the Birds. If McNabb can't go, Kolb is the only quarterback on the roster who is available next week. Even if they add someone, it means they'll be forced to cut someone from the 53-man roster they set little more than two weeks ago. We've heard some clamoring for Jeff Garcia, but look at it from the individual's perspective: would somebody as valuable as Garcia really sign on with any team for one game?
Looking very likely McNabb could at least suit up for this game, if not start.
