The Cleveland Browns signed the deal that placed Brandon Weeden  on the teams roster for the next four years. Now with camp getting started in Cleveland you have to wonder if Colt McCoy will get a fair shot to compete for the starting role or does second year head coach Pat Shurmur already have Weeden penciled in as the Cleveland Browns starter. It will be interesting to see how this soon to be 29-year-old rookie can compete on the N.F.L. level with a full professional pass rush coming to plant Mr. Weeden into the ground. Weeden has yet to throw a pass in the N.F.L. officially, yet many have him as the teams savior. Some are even saying that Head Coach  Pat Shurmur’s future could depend on the success of Brandon Weeden. I think that could be a little far-fetched. After all Shurmur is Holmgren boy, Holmgren and Shurmur go way back and I think as long as Holmgren is here so will be Pat Shurmur. The thing fans are wondering is will Colt McCoy be he come opening day? McCoy was told he w...

Browns Still Trying to Avoid Guaranteed 4th Year with Weeden

The Browns got Trent Richardson signed last night and it was a cakewalk compared to the process with Brandon Weeden. Brandon Weeden on the other hand is 28 years old and was picked 22nd overall. The fourth year isn’t quite as much of a...

No ordinary rookie, Weeden takes control of Browns

Brandon Weeden once dreamed of wearing blue Yankees pinstripes. He settled for a logo-less orange helmet. Despite a high-powered right arm that got him drafted out of high school in the second round by the New York Yankees, Weeden's baseball career fizzled out in the low minor leagues, where hitters weren't fooled by a 95 mph fastball that sometimes left the ballpark at...
