HOTQB            Philip Rivers –Rivers has had 10 days off to plan for this big game against the Bucs with both teams being 4 and 4. He should get Meachem and Royal back and have his full complement of receivers. West teams typically don’t travel well to the east coast, but welcoming them is a Tampa Bay team allowing the 8th most fantasy points to QB’s. They’ve already had their bye and are still giving up the 2ndmost passing yards to QB’s. Joe Flacco –In 4 home games Joe is averaging 317.8 yards and 1.8 TD’s.  In 4 road games Joe is averaging 179.8 yards and .8 TD’s.  Good news, he’s at home against the Raiders this week and they allow the 9th most fantasy points to QB’s.Honorable mention: Josh Freeman (11 TD's in last 4 games)RBIsaac Redman –All beat writers for the Steelers expect Redman to get the start continuing his momentum from last week. This jives with what Coach Tomlin said about riding the hot hand, well; Redman’s hands are as hot as they can be right now. Until Mendy comes back, Redman has solid flex value with RB2 upside if he maintains his current pace. The Chiefs give up the 6th most fantasy points to RB’s.Daniel Thomas –Thomas is out carrying Reggie Bush and he’s the goal line back for the Dolphins. This week Miami faces the Titans and they allow the 3rdmost rushing yards to RB’s. Noteworthy for Thomas, the Titans have allowed the most redzone touches to RB’s with 74, second is at 55. Thomas is a strong flex play this week.Honorable mentions:  Taiwan Jones (standard leagues) and Marcel Reece (PPR)WRMike Williams – A touchdown or 100 yards in his last 4 of 5 games. Vincent Jackson will do damage this week against his former team, but they will have their eyes on him and Freeman will take his shots at Williams. Williams is a strong WR2 in this possible shootout. Chargers give up the 4th highest total of receiving touchdowns to WR’s.Honorable mentions:  Kenny Britt (Jake Locker is back) and Emmanuel SandersTEAnthony Fasano –Fasano only has 6 catches in his last 3 games, but he does have 2 TD’s. This week he faces the Titans and they allow most fantasy points to TE’s including the most receptions, most yards and most TD’s. He’s a TE2 but a good bye week or upside guy based on this match up.Honorable mentions:  Greg Olsen andMartellus BennettNOTQBMike Vick –We all know Vick’s struggles with turnovers, and the Cowboys corners and DeMarcus Ware are not going to take it easy on him.  Their NFC East fate is on the line as both are 3-5 and I wouldn’t trust Vick at all in this match up. Cowboys give up the 4 fewest passing yards, 3rd fewest completions and no rushing TD’s to QB’s. As a group the Cowboys defense allows the 6th fewest fantasy points to QB’s.Watch out:  Matt Schaub and Jay Cutler RBMatt Forte –Houston hasn’t allowed a rushing TD all year and only 1 receiving TD to a running back all year. Houston has allowed the 5th fewest rushing yards and 3rd fewest fantasy points to RB’s all year.  Watch out: Michael Bush.Arian Foster –The Bears will allow Tillman to match up one on one with Andre Johnson, affording the Bears the ability to focus on shutting down Foster. Foster may have to rely on one big run like CJ?K did last week against the Bears.WRWatch out: Brandon Marshall - Texans say they will double him.Watch out: DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin – Together have combined for only 16 catches, 220 yards and 1 TD in their last TWO GAMES. Take away DJax’s 77 yard TD play and you’re left with 143 yards over two games for two WR’s. Watch out: Danny Amendola – First game back from a clavicle injury he faces the 49ers who allow the 2nd fewest fantasy points to WR’s. Give him a week to get his feet back before putting him back in your line up. TETony Gonzalez –The Saints get burned by RB’s and WR’s, not TE’s. New Orleans is allowing TE’s the 5th fewest fantasy points and only 1 receiving TD to a TE all year.Watch out: Heath Miller - KC has allowed only 25 receptions to TE’s ALL YEAR for only 312 yards.

The Chargers don't have the talent to win it all, so where are they going. Week 10 preview.

Philip Rivers has talent to play QB, he just doesn't have anything to work with in SD.  I don't think that he can win if he stays there.  I think he'd be a better fit somewhere that already has offensive talent.  We'll see what happens this offseason.  I'm sitting at 84-49 heading into the weekend.  I need to have a huge run to get over .750 for the season...

San Diego Chargers: Week 10 NFL Power Rankings (#15)

Last week: 15 (+0) Record: 4-4 I was not impressed with their showing at home against the crappy Chiefs last week. If not for two defensive touchdowns, that could have easily been at the very least an embarrassingly close win to an inferior opponent for a team that held a 3 game losing streak coming in. They can’t keep relying on their defense to score like that every week. I am...

Bucs game day: Keys to the game against the Chargers

The Buccaneers are looking to continue their offensive success from the past four weeks. Rookie running back Doug Martin rushed for 386 yards and five touchdowns on the ground the past two games but may have a tougher time against San Diego on Sunday.  Keep that play action going often With Martin’s recent success the past few weeks, the Bucs should expect the Chargers to crowd...

San Diego Chargers at Tampa Bay Bucs: Three Bold Predictions

As I looked through this season for the Bucs and Chargers, I discovered an interesting little fact:They have both played Oakland, New Orleans, and Kansas City (the Chargers played the Chiefs twice), and both won against the Raiders and Chiefs but lost to the Saints (the Bucs missed overtime by a penalty).San Diego and Tampa Bay also have combined for one win against an opponent...

San Diego Chargers vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers Preview

One of the more intriguing match ups this week pins a battle of (4-4) teams as the San Diego Chargers travel across the county to southern Florida and take of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Both teams have had their share of ups and downs this season, finding ways to lose close games. It also marks the first time that former Charger superstar wideout Vincent Jackson plays his former club...

Chargers at Buccaneers game preview

Game time: Sunday at 1 p.m. ET TV: CBS With a rookie sensation at running back and a fourth-year quarterback who's finally coming into his own, the surprising Tampa Bay Buccaneers are starting to look like a playoff team. The San Diego Chargers have the same record and are also just outside the playoff picture, but they haven't looked much like a contender lately. The...

San Diego Chargers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Week 10 NFL Pick

San Diego Chargers (4-4) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-4) The Buccaneers are surging thanks to Doug Martin’s improved play and the improved chemistry between Josh Freeman and new free agent deep threat acquisition Vincent Jackson. Josh Freeman has a cannon for an arm, but he wasn’t using it last year, throwing 20 yards downfield or more on just 6.5% of his throws, by far least frequent...

Rivers, Floyd lead Week 10 plays

Through nine weeks, our Position vs. Fantasy Defensive Points Allowed is an increasingly strong tool to help you find good matchups. As always, please remember that the players listed are mostly meant to be borderline guys, who need reasons for you to play or bench them. You won't see recommendations to start Calvin Johnson and Drew Brees, because you should always start Calvin...
