If ever a first-place team faced a must-win game against one of the worst teams in the NFL, it's this week in St. Louis.
As the Bears like to remind everyone, they ARE a first place team. But of all the division leaders in the NFL, no one has more questions about them than the Bears, and they can go a long way towards answering some of them this week in St. Louis.
But for the Bears, just winning against the Rams isn't really going to quiet anyone who questions the quality of the team on the field. A close or sloppy victory against bottom-feeding St. Louis really only paves the way for more questions, no matter how Lovie Smith tries to spin a victory.
On paper, this should be a recipe for a blowout. The Rams are going to be without stars Steven Jackson and Orlando Pace, two key pieces of the offense. And the Rams' defense is just plain bad. So any good team should be able to steamroll through St. Louis on their way to an easy victory.
