Found December 16, 2011 on Bears Backer:

The Bears might be without defensive tackle Henry Melton and kick returner/wide receiver Devin Hester this Sunday against Seattle.

Melton hasn’t been able to practice all week with a shin injury.

It’s rather unfortunate because he leads all defensive tackles in the NFL with seven sacks.

If he can’t play, first-year Bear Amobi Okoye will get the start. Okoye has added four sacks and the Bears are reportedly looking to sign him to a multi-year deal sometime soon.

Rookie Stephen Paea would see increased playing time, while veteran Anthony Adams would be active for the first time in the three weeks if Melton was out.

The other key player injured for the Bears is Hester. Hester re-injured his ankle in practice yesterday.

He wasn’t able to practice today and will likely be a game-time decision on Sunday.

Head coach Lovie Smith said today that they both could play, but Melton isn’t coming progressing much with his shin injury.

Cornerback Charles Tillman returned to practice today after missing Wednesday and Thursday with a knee injury.

Other injuries for the Bears: Left guard Edwin Williams (calf) and safety Major Wright (shoulder) were limited today in practice.

The Bears opponent, Seattle, has only missed one player questionable for Sunday. Offensive tackle Jerriel King is questionable with a hamstring injury.

DE Raheem Brock (calf) and OG Robert Gallery (hip) were able to practice fully after missing  practice the last two days. WR Doug Baldwin (ankle) and LB David Hawthorne (knee) have been able to practice fully the past two days after missing practice on Wednesday.

Seattle travels to Solider Field winners of four of their last five.
