TEAMS: Jacksonville Jaguars, Buffalo Bills, Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks, New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans, San Francisco 49ers
At first look, this Sunday’s matchup for the Patriots against the Jacksonville Jaguars looks to be an easy win for the Patriots. But every time it appears the Patriots should have an easy game they seem to struggle, and the game turns out much closer than it should be.
Take for instance the Patriots two games against the Buffalo Bills, the game against the Arizona Cardinals, and the game against the Seattle Seahawks. They were able to beat Buffalo both times, the first game started off poorly as they fell behind early and we’re trailing 21-7 in the 3rd quarter. They could have been down more had it not been for crucial turnovers Buffalo made late in the first half. In the second half they took over and ended up blowing out the Bills 52-28. The game against Arizona should have been won but Stephen Gostkowski missed an easy field goal at the end of regulation, and the Seahawks surprised the Patriots with a win in Seattle.

New England Patriots at Jacksonville Jaguars: Week 16 NFL Pick
New England Patriots (10-4) at Jacksonville Jaguars (2-12)
Tom Brady and the Patriots lost last week, but there was still a lot to like from that game. They scored 34 points on the league’s best defense, despite a season high 4 turnovers and despite missing Rob Gronkowski. Their defense surrendered 41 points, but that could have been a lot less if not for the uncharacteristic 4...
Patriots look to rebound against woeful Jaguars
It's been a decade since the New England Patriots lost consecutive games in December.
The streak seems pretty safe heading into Sunday's game at Jacksonville.

Brandon Spikes, Alfonzo Dennard ruled out against Jaguars
The Patriots have battled many injuries to key players this season. Big names like Logan Mankins, Aaron Hernandez, Chandler Jones, Rob Gronkowski and others have missed games. Patriots Mailbag: Tom Brady, Patriots Have Something to Prove After Loss to 49ers
Sunday’s loss is still lingering in the minds of the Patriots’ players, and that could be a good thing as they prepare for a playoff run.

He’s not the only Patriot with something to prove, though. Stevan Ridley...

With the news that columnist Brian McGrory will become the new editor of the Boston Globe, some might wonder whether any changes would be forthcoming in the sports department. I doubt it. Based on some of the truly atrocious columns McGrory penned about the Red Sox, I think we can be confident that the sports department will remain as it is.
