Last week, the Baltimore Ravens (1-0) came out and featured their new "sugar-huddle" offense being ran by Cam Cameron. The offense exploded for 430 yards, 308 of those by way of the pass.Joe Flacco is in a contract year and wants to have a huge season to earn that paycheck. Ray Rice can play in this new style of offense and is a great receiver out of the backfield, showing off those skills with a couple one-handed catches in Week 1.Torrey Smith hauled in one of his patented deep balls from Flacco a connection that will be there every week. Boldin is back in the slot and had an impressive game and will quietly have his best season since his days in Arizona. Dennis Pitta is a waiver wire addition this week, but we need to temper our expectations as the big game could easily shift to the other tight end Ed Dickson.Good starts: Ray Rice, Torrey SmithMiddle of the road: Joe Flacco, Dennis Pitta, Anquan BoldinBad starts: Ed Dickson, Jacoby Jones As good as the Ravens looked las...
BEST OF MAXIM
They took my handcuffs off Juan…
Joe Flacco tore it up last Monday night. He threw the ball down the field with the greatest of ease. The Ravens have been protecting Flacco for too long and now they have unleashed him. Haven’t we seen this before from Cam Cameron?
I love Flacco’s talent and his weapons. I don’t trust that Cameron will continue to let him run the...
There’s plenty to talk about after only one week of football in the AFC North.First and foremost is the play of the Baltimore Ravens, who coincidentally are in first place in the division. The Ravens made an emphatic statement on Monday night against the Bengals that the road for the AFC North crown will go through them. The stellar play of their defense has almost been taken for...
If there were great expectations for Robert Griffin III prior to Sunday’s game in New Orleans, those expectations have grown even bigger after being names the NFL player of the week for the NFC today.
After completing 19 of 26 passes for 320 yards and two scores through the air, Griffin had become a twitter sensation after his first touchdown pass had even crossed the goal line...
Among the many interesting subplots of the Eagles' hosting the Ravens this coming Sunday are the parallel universes of Eagles CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Ravens QB Joe Flacco...Both are playing for new long-term contracts. Both are coincidentally playing lights out since preseason began. And now both will be facing off against each other, with the winner of the match...
Joe Flacco put on quite a performance on “Monday Night Football” against the Bengals. The NFL has apparently rewarded him.
Flacco won the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award, according to reports.
The fifth-year quarterback’s performance was spectacular. He went 21-for29 for 299 yards and two touchdowns in the Ravens’ 44-13 victory.
Yes, the Baltimore Ravens and Joe Flacco looked amazing last Monday Night against a division rival and yes the offense probably played the best game you’ve ever seen them play. The defense, while only giving up 13 points did bend a bit to the inside running game. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles struggled to beat a perennially rebuilding Browns team.
So, why am I telling you...
The Redskins’ Robert Griffin III and the Ravens’ Joe Flacco collect some hardware
It is a great time to be a DMV sports fan. The Nationals and Orioles are both pushing toward the playoffs, the Capitals are still competitive, and the Wizards….well at least the Kings haven’t moved to Virginia Beach — yet. Both the Redskins and the Ravens looked great on opening NFL...
This game is a tough one to pick this early in the season. It’s not real clear how either team, the Ravens or Eagles, will be this season.
Baltimore looked dominant Monday night and the Eagles won their game against the Browns, but turned the ball over five times.
For this week, I’m rolling with the home team.
Joe Flacco showed pinpoint accuracy in the Ravens’ 44-13 victory...
The Ravens come into this matchup as arguably the most impressive team in the NFL thanks to Joe Flacco going bonkers to a bevy of weapons on Monday Night Football.
Flacco threw for 299 yards and 2 TD and star wide receiver Torrey Smith only hauled in 2 passes for 57 yards.
Ray Rice as usual proved to be the best back in the NFL, totaling for 93 yards and 2 TD. The...
"Sure he's elite, of course he is… he's the best quarterback I've ever been around." - Ravens coach John Harbaugh
"… of course Harbaugh said that he thinks his quarterback is elite. What else would he say? Flacco played very well, but he has to do this consistently to be in the same league as Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Drew Brees and the...
Ravens @ Eagles
Sunday at 1:00pm, at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA, kicks off what is sure to be a great battle between a pair of Super Bowl hopefuls. The Ravens travel to Philadelphia with hopes of picking up right where they left off the previous week, whereas the Eagles look to correct what was quite a sloppy performance on offense last...
A late game-winning drive salvaged an otherwise dreadful Week 1 for Michael Vick.
Joe Flacco was brilliant for virtually all 60 minutes.
Vick could be facing an unfriendly home crowd if his performance is much like the season opener, and Philadelphia Eagles fans would only be more temperamental if Flacco and the new-look Baltimore Ravens offense have another big game Sunday.
The Ravens look to continue riding their hot streak this week in Philadelphia against the 1-0 Eagles, who are coming off an ugly win over the Browns in Cleveland, a game that featured eight total interceptions. Although the Eagles' offense struggled for most of game against Browns, and Baltimore pummeled 2011 playoff participant Cincinnati, those curious Vegas odds-makers have...
